Allen H., Newegg

  • Summary: This is my first tablet and I have not been disappointed.
  • Pros: Great tablet. Lots of memory and a very nice screen. I bought this refurbished and I will be the first to tell you that it looks like new. very pleased
  • Cons: the biggest con would be the bloat wear on the unit. Other than that its great.

Fantastic Tablet, worthy against the Competition of Samsung and Apple.

17 October 2014
  • Summary: First of all this is the First Generation of the Xperia Z tablet, this is not the Xperia Z 2 Tablet (Which has more amazing specifications) I was so lucky to grab this tablet for $220 here on Amazon (9/19/14). When this tablet was first released it was worth $600 retail, now its $500 new, and as low as $400 used (as of 10/17/14). Mines was Specifically refurbished so not sure what happened to it in the past but the tablet works in every way to meet my expectations.

Sony Tablet Z- Refurb in pristine condition

Jason L., Newegg
12 October 2014
  • Pros: As another reviewer commented, I was also not feeling a warm and fuzzy feeling when the unit arrived in a brown box and wrapped in bubble wrap, but once unpacked, I was very pleased to see this was as in New condition with not a mark/scratch.Booted up and ran an OTA update and its performing exceptional. An outstanding value at the purchase price and the NEW condition it arrived in. great Sony build quality as expected.
  • Cons: No Con, but hope Sony will eventually offer OLED displays with their future tablets. The newer Z2 does not, only an IPS panel upgrade, but if Sony adds OLED panels, They will give Samsung a good run for the money .

Good deal on a winner

Bob L., Newegg
7 October 2014
  • Summary: Ordered Sunday morning. Arrived in As-New condition late Tuesday afternoon. Great service. I was a little apprehensive about ordering this refurb unit because--while I'm very high on refurbs--I had never purchased from this Newegg marketplace vendor. I was not especially encouraged when I opened the box and there was no packaging--just the bare tablet swathed in bubble wrap, and the charger/cable in another bubbly wad.
  • Pros: Remarkably good tablet at a terrific price
  • Cons: Packaging was a new definition of "bare bones" but unit was pristine

Outstanding Value

Channels I., Newegg
5 October 2014
  • Summary: It appears that it is a luck of the draw that you get a perfect refurb or a not so perfect one. So I would keep sending it back until you get a perfect one. It is a great tablet and if all you are doing is content viewing it will fit the bill at 4.3 and you do not need to upgrade it. Do not upgrade over the air to Android 4.4.2, it is full of bugs and battery drain problems. Bypass it by using Sony PC Companion to flash 4.4.4 downloaded from the Sony support website.
  • Pros: Tablet arrived in mint condition and quickly. It had Android 4.3 installed. Light tablet, real quick processor with a very vivid screen. Hooked up to PC Companion with no problems. This is my second tablet and it is half a pound lighter than my Iconia A500.
  • Cons: The tab covering the charging USB is an accident waiting to happen. Pulling it off and putting it back is a pain and you will break it eventually. In Android 4.3 the keyboard can flicker from time to time. If you upgrade to the current Android 4.4.4 it is fixed but you will lose use of the SD card to store apps and will have to root the tablet to get it back. The tablet is close to end of life with Sony so you have a 50-50 chance it will be upgraded to Android L in No...

Impressive tablet for the money

Luke S., Newegg
2 October 2014
  • Summary: This tablet arrived in like new condition. It ships with an older version of android, but there is a recent update out there. Installed and now it's running really well. Best tablet you can get for the money. Several coworkers were drawn to my desk because this tablet got their attention even when it was OFF. Stylish Sony looks. Very thin. I verified this as waterproof too!
  • Pros: Sony elegance Screen size Price Speed, clarity, and presentation
  • Cons: I'm not an android user and wish I could get rid of some of the Google apps.
