Summary: Great tablet for being my 1st & for the price I had it 200$. It's a very handy device if you need to go online check your emails or watch videos. It's also upgradable to 4.1 android system. I have it for about 2 months and it works pretty well so far. The only problem I encountered is the headphone input works only on one side...no idea what happened. But overall I'm very happy with my tablet and I would recommend it especially for the price.
Great If You Can Live with Proprietary Accessories
5 January 2014
Summary: The device is one of the best around, but the catch-22 is the proprietary charging cables and chargers for which the designers meant to extract additional revenue by not going standard. Most of the chargers you see on ebay for this device are expensive and do not even work with the particular model they are advertised to charge. If you cannot obtain a charging cable (usb with special plug required to fit the special charging port) you are stuck.
Summary: I wanted an easy to use, easy to carry tablet to take on an overseas trip with me so that I could have maps, schedules and translators at my fingertips. In many areas of Europe where I was traveling, Wifi was not free and so the flexibility of the tablet was not what I had intended it to be. While the Sony is easy to handle and has great resolution, it is not as user friendly/idiot proof as an Ipad.
Summary: I received my Sony Tablet S 16gb on Thursday, 9/22 and have really enjoyed it. I love the wedge shape and how light the tablet it is. It's made of plastic which is how they kept the weight to iPad2 level. Feels very sturdy in hand and I'm not afraid of bending or breaking it all. I had the same issue as @dani0808 but after resetting the device when it blacked out on me, the issue was resolved. Works perfect ever since.
