  • Conclusion: That said, this is a unique product, and a well-executed one for what it is. (And in case you thought Sony wasn't serious about buyers taking this tablet around, the company is offering a $59.99 carry case for it, to be available in December.) If you're strapped for space for your desktop, like the design and semi-portability, and want bragging rights to one of the world's biggest "true" tablets (so far, anyway!
  • Pros: PC converts into giant tabletop tablet, Good complementary apps, Excellent-quality screen, Handsome, minimalist design, User-replaceable battery
  • Cons: Small screen for an AIO at this price, Just two USB ports

Sony VAIO Tap 20

LAPTOP Magazine
11 October 2012
  • Summary: From a purely technical standpoint, the Sony VAIO Tap 20 doesn't deliver the performance we'd expect for a $1,000 PC. The real value of the Tap 20, however, lies in its 10-point touch screen, integrated battery and family-friendly applications. This device really shows off Windows 8's true potential.
  • Pros: Attractive design with fold-back display, Integrated battery enables portability, Responsive touch screen with wide viewing angles, Good selection of family-friendly apps
  • Cons: Integrated graphics, Display has fairly low 1600 x 900 resolution, Grainy webcam, Limited port selection

  • Excerpt: The touch-screen controls of Windows 8 have given rise to a new breed of hybrid mobile device that tries to function as both a laptop and a tablet. However, Sony has gone to the opposite extreme with the new Sony VAIO Tap 20 – it’s a giant 20in tablet that can also be used as a desktop PC . See: more tablet reviews .

Sony Vaio Tap 20 all-in-one touchscreen PC review

Pocket Lint
16 January 2013
  • Excerpt: With Windows 8's touch-capable interface now fully launched it was inevitable that we'd see all manner of touchscreen devices appear, from the obvious to the more unusual. The Sony Vaio Tap 20 is one that's knocking firmly on the latter door.
  • Pros: Clever adjustable stand, screen looks good throughout various viewing angles, responsive to touch, battery could save from power outages, interesting new category
  • Cons: Not a Full HD screen, it's heavy, battery won't last out that long, not powerful enough to be considered a pro desktop, should be slimmer

Sony Vaio Tap 20

PCGuia
23 January 2013
