Summary: It is as it appears. The mobile-phone style keyboard is quite unwieldy, it takes quite some practice to use with any amount of effectiveness due to the keys being very uniform and lacking any differentiation between one key and the next (for example, on a standard keyboard the F and J keys usually have a bump). The model I purchased was the one with a 600 MHz processor.
The Samsung Q1 has fulfilled its quata with with me.

Summary: I have owned a Q1 since march 2009, from which I have enjoyed this computer even now. The Samsung Q1 is a fully functional on the move laptop that is very underrated , given the right antivirus, the Q1 can sail through Internet pages not far behind MacBooks with twice it's operating capacity. Although some programs, for unknown reasons, after being downloaded on-line slow this tablets prosseccing ability.
Summary: The reason I purchased this unit was to use it on my BMW K1200LT motorcycle as a GPS device, I'll be using either Microsoft Streets & Trips or Delorme Street & Trip. Some testing to see which is the better will be required. Being it is a computer I can also use software to play MP3 files & hopefully I'll be able to link it all through the Bluetooth to a Bluetooth helmet headset, this will get rid of the cords currently in use.
Light, small, fast, and amazing battery. Cant fault the Q1U

Excerpt: "Great little tablet PC with only a few drawbacks. Firstly the battery life is INCREDIBLE. On battery-save mode you get 12 hours with the big battery!! The screen is clear, the touchscreen is responsive and accurate. Some people have said the 600mhz version is slow but mine launches fullscreen video whilst web browsing with no problems at all. Worth being careful with the bloatware you install as there's a big selection on the disk, but you dont really ...
Summary: I've worked with loads of laptops/tablets - currently I have a Vaio, IBM, Toshiba latop, Toshiba tablet and Samsung Q1. The Q1 is my best gadget buy of 2006. Small, reliable, well made & designed. Battary lasts around 2 hours (amend the power settings to max battery). I've bought the extended battery for 4-5 hours in long meetings or on the road.
Pros: Form factor & full Windows & Office compatibility
Cons: With adjustments, battery life lasts 2 hours, would like to see 4 hours
Summary: It's exactly what I have been looking for. Lighter in weight than most laptops which is vital with new airline hand luggage weight limits. Keyboard included and USB connection for file transfers with PC very good and very quick. Great for collecting emails and writing short documents. Keyboard supplied is very good and enough memory to carry (Access) databases, documents and pictures.
Pros: Runs windows XP & office applications. Bluetooth built in good for email anywhere
