Excerpt: Purchased in Feb 14 to replace an 18 month old Nexus 7. Only reason for replacement was to upgrade (gave the Nexus to our daughter which she is still using). After 3 months (in a case) my wife took the note out of her purse and noticed a thumb size black spot n the screen. Within a day it had grown to a 2 " wide black line across the entire width of the screen. I uploaded the issue on Samsung's web site (with images) and received a call (which I missed) the next day.
Summary: This could have been a great tablet/phone. It was the ultimate all-in-one tool. Other reviewers have already reviewed the great points about it so I won't rehash them because I loved all the features, especially the stylus. My problem with it started two months into owning it. I might had ended up with a lemon but I still feel I should report it. After two months, out of nowhere, the battery started draining unreasonably fast.
Excerpt: Total waste of money. Will be returning. Really wanted to give this a chance but all it does is crash or give me constant errors. Extremely frustrating all the Samsung apps that you can't remove. Who's device is it anyway? This was my first Samsung device, I guess they make ok TV's but this was a colossal waste of time and money. Honestly don't know how there are so many good reviews. Either they are all Samsung employees or perhaps I just got a lemon.
Cons: Complete waste of money, constant failures and crashes, Did not meet expectations, false advertisement about storage, Poor quality
Excerpt: I left a previous review but it didn't make the cut. Dont know why b/c I didn't use any type of profanity or vulgar language. Just gave my honest opinion. Lets see if it makes it this time...Would not recommend to anyone, not even as a toy. Why? See photos attached. Screen freezes, powers on/off by itself and to top that off-COLOR DISTORTIONS...Buy at your own risk. Very Pretty Tablet but taking a chance...
Cons: Did not meet expectations, Poor quality, too expensive - not worth it
Excerpt: On 9-27-13 I purchased a Samsung Galaxy Note 8 from the Staples store in Scottsbluff, NE. While it worked well for the first few days, by the 2-3 weeks point it was useful for little else than paper weight. So, I took it back to the same store and was informed that since more than 2 weeks had elapsed they could not provide me with a replacement and that I would have to work with Samsung customer support to remedy the problem, but that they were very likely to simply send...
S pen included with for 2x as much as the Nexus 7.
16 October 2013
Summary: You could just buy the Nexus 7 and a samsung S Pen. Just make sure you have a safe place to keep the S pen, as it doesn't come with an integrated slot like the Note 8 does. onI'm planning to root this device because the software is just so limiting and bad. Other cons include the fact that Papyrus is a much better note taking app than the S note app, and dual screen mode only works with some apps. Really, the amount of fine print attached to this thing is astounding.
Pros: - integrated s pen slot, - Up to date version of android
Cons: - Bloatware that is impossible to get rid of, - Touchwiz is inferior to root Android, treats users like babies, - raised back camera makes note taking on flat surfaces noisier., - SD card does not work for music apps not produced by samsung, - Expensive
Excerpt: My reason for purchasing the Galaxy 8 Note was for school use-grad program. The sales person assured me that adobe flash player could be used with this product. Well one day after purchase and several google searches I find that adobe flash is no longer available on Samsung Galaxy. I will be returning this first thing tomorrow for a note or tablet that I can use.
Pros: Bright display, Built-In Speakers, Durable, Lightweight, Realistic color
