Do not buy this device

Anonymous, Samsung
12 February 2014
  • Summary: Total waste of money. Will be returning. Really wanted to give this a chance but all it does is crash or give me constant errors. Extremely frustrating all the Samsung apps that you can't remove. Who's device is it anyway? This was my first Samsung device, I guess they make ok TV's but this was a colossal waste of time and money. Honestly don't know how there are so many good reviews. Either they are all Samsung employees or perhaps I just got a lemon.
  • Pros: none
  • Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations, false advertisement about storage, constant failures and crashes, complete waste of money

2nd Time's a Charm

KayLuvKay, Samsung
23 January 2014
  • Summary: I left a previous review but it didn't make the cut. Dont know why b/c I didn't use any type of profanity or vulgar language. Just gave my honest opinion. Lets see if it makes it this time...Would not recommend to anyone, not even as a toy. Why? See photos attached. Screen freezes, powers on/off by itself and to top that off-COLOR DISTORTIONS...Buy at your own risk. Very Pretty Tablet but taking a chance...
  • Pros: Lightweight
  • Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations, too expensive - not worth it

Refurbished??By whom?

Frank R., Newegg
26 December 2013
  • Pros: Works as long as it is plugged into a power source.
  • Cons: Defective battery. Claims that is a refurbished item. When it arrived the battery would not hold a charge, only powers up and works if it is plugged into a power source. As soon as it is unplugged it dies.

Don't buy this expecting Samsung support

Popporez, Staples
18 December 2013
  • Excerpt: On 9-27-13 I purchased a Samsung Galaxy Note 8 from the Staples store in Scottsbluff, NE. While it worked well for the first few days, by the 2-3 weeks point it was useful for little else than paper weight. So, I took it back to the same store and was informed that since more than 2 weeks had elapsed they could not provide me with a replacement and that I would have to work with Samsung customer support to remedy the problem, but that they were very likely to simply send...

Does not live up to samsung name

  • Summary: My reason for purchasing the Galaxy 8 Note was for school use-grad program. The sales person assured me that adobe flash player could be used with this product. Well one day after purchase and several google searches I find that adobe flash is no longer available on Samsung Galaxy. I will be returning this first thing tomorrow for a note or tablet that I can use.
  • Pros: Bright display, Built-In Speakers, Durable, Lightweight, Realistic color
  • Cons: Did not meet expectations

Not 16gb, SD limited, OS Cumbersome, Expensive

Estrellazero, ABT Electronics
8 August 2013
  • Summary: * Less than 10GB are available on a 16GB model * All content such as books and music has to be manually transferred from device to SD card, time consuming and tedious. There is no settings to default to the SD card. I have not found any apps to do this either. * Apps may not run on SD without modifying OS and voiding warranty. Currently there are no apps that support the Galaxy Note 8 * The pen is clunky and takes time get used to.
  • Pros: Lightweight
  • Cons: 10gb out 16gb avail, Did not meet expectations, os cumbersome, pen is limited, sd card use limited
