Great Tablet but ....

Summary: I am extreamly please with my Galaxy Tab. It is very thin and light weight. The picture quality is quite nice as well. The battery seems to have plenty of life in WiFi mode. I don't know how well it lasts running it in 4GL mode since I rarely if ever use the 4GL functionality. That leads to my one serious issue with this tablet. Not only will the tablet will not boot up without a sim card it won't boot up without an activated sim card.
Summary: I recently purchased this ( 1 week ago) Galaxy GTP7510-UW32ARB. The box arrived in good condition with charger, USB cable and instructions booklet. I charged the unit overnight and started using the unit. The auto rotation (of the screen) function works only some times. The back of the tablet gets hot when the unit is used for more than 2 continuous hours.
Excerpt: My husband and I bought this tablet a while ago. We have Android phones and love them, so we thought it would be the best idea to get an Android tablet as well- we now wish we had either just bought an iPad or not bought a tablet at all. It is not as fast as we had hoped. Takes a long time to start up, not as responsive as we expected...and it's a little big.
Excerpt: The tablet is usable overall but I continue to receive errors once the marketplace is upgraded to google play. Reasonable battery life....as good or better than I had anticipated. Very little lag time between operations. Light enough to put in your pocket if you needed to. Availability is good for apps but as I mentioned in my main comment I receive kernel error messages once marketplace is upgraded to google play. Streamlined and sleek.
Excerpt: This tablet is one that attempts to fill a void for a 7 inch tablet but doesn't quite make it. Focusing on the positives, the tablet has a great design and is easy to hold with one hand. The overall UI is decent and the tablet offers a host of connectivity options. The only issue is that it just underwhelms. There are other tablets out there that really wow within the 7 inch category, such as the Nexus 7 or the iPad mini.
Excerpt: I really like the easy of packing this item and taking it where ever i need to go. The charge of the battery was very quick. My kids enjoyed playing the games on it. And it cam in handy when i needed to transfer funds to my bank account.
Excerpt: The picture on this is pretty good. Not spectacular, but it is good. The apps run fast and open and close quickly. My main complain is the screen size. I realize this thing is only $200 but it isn't that great of a compromise. It is good if you don't have a smart phone and it useful for carrying on a bus or something where you have limited space, but compared to a 10 inch tablet it's not the best option if money is not a problem. You get 6-8 hours on a charge.
