  • Summary: Great tablet, beautiful screen and all around great product. I got mine today, and love it... But, I am going to have to return it. It has dings around the edges from past owner abuse and the S-pen literally had scotch tape wrapped around it that I had to peel off little piece by piece. I have read the other reviews and it seems that I may have just had bad luck, but I didn't expect the cosmetic blemishes.

Bluetooth connectivity issues and battery issues prevent me from recommending.

  • Summary: I love the portability of this tablet. Its size makes it comfortable to use in a variety of scenarios. But not being able to use a bluetooth keyboard with ease is disheartening. I purchased a keyboard to be able to use this tablet for more than just video watching. But the constant disconnect even while typing (you would think a constant signal would keep it working) makes work very frustrating. Factory resets and even an update to Kit Kat didn't fix the problem.
  • Pros: Bright display, Durable, Lightweight, responsive, battery life (once it gets it act together)
  • Cons: Did not meet expectations, bluetooth disconnects, audio could be better, battery life stats atrocious, downgraded to a standby tablet for portability, feels like a lottery to get a less-flawed product

Features don't matter if you can't charge it!

  • Summary: I bought this unit in November, by this year I had problems getting it to charge. At first I could wiggle the plug into a place/angle to get it to charge. I even tried the charger from my samsung phone which has the same plug, but a better cable. Frustration. I UPS'd it in for repair today. Really hurts to send it away after I paid so much for it. They told me turn around was 4 days after they got it, so I'll update my review when I get it back.
  • Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, Lightweight
  • Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations, poor quality charger/jack

  • Summary: I.love. this tab. Simular specs to the pro. But it was shipped with a crack across the whole screen. Also charging port is lose. Walmart is sending a replacement simce I called them. 5star customer service. Od give the tablet 5 stars if I didnt have open security tabs and a crack acrossy screen. I lobe it though I had the 2012 note this ones alot better. No pen skips either. Love action memo. But I also cant get my perks to go through.

Screen problems

Brian Stewart, Amazon
3 February 2014
  • Summary: Things seem to work just fine for the most part, but an ever present problem after going through three of these was a persistent backlight bleeding problem at the bottom of the screen. Read several message boards with people experiencing the same problem. It is really only present in low light, dark screen scenarios, but when shelling out $500 bucks for a high-end tablet, one would expect things like that to have been taken care of pre-production.

  • Pros: When it worked excellent speed. Comes with good productivity apps.
  • Cons: Stoped working after a month and a half. Refuses to turn on. I am overseas and trying to deal with Samsung is not easy. E-mailed New Egg 4 days ago and still waiting for a reply.

Not ready for the market

David W., Newegg

  • Summary: It appears they pushed this product out before it was ready. I suggest you wait a while before buying The Galaxy Note 10.1
  • Pros: Good physical package. I have owned an I pad 2 and Motorola Zoom and the Note is fast and has a good screen.
  • Cons: Freezes periodically, once froze, shut down and restarted. Can't reach Samsung support because the model hasn't been added to their database.

  • Summary: I did a site to store pick up. When I got it home, I realized that my box seal was broken. It says on the seal to not accept the box if the box is unsealed. I thought I'd give it a try anyway. Very slow and unresponsive. Not at all user friendly. Returned after 4 days of use and bought a new iPad Air instead. Totally a big disappointment. I wonder if I got a unit that someone else returned.
