Summary: The Surface Pro is NOT a Surface Pro 2. I purchased mine for only $649.99 and with tax and shipping I payed under $700.00. For my budget and for what I got ... outstanding. My old laptop had to go and I looked at many tablets. Sometimes I just need a keyboard and the detachable Surface Type Cover does the job nicely. Surface Pro has 64gb on internal memory and I expand that easily with a 64gb micro-SDXC card.
Summary: I have bought the RT about a month ago, price was ok and the performance was ok too. Finally a Windows product that boots up as fast as a Linux Distro. I found a few items that Redmond cost cutter. Only one USB port, and the sound left alto to be in need. I then bought 2!!! Surface Pro. The price difference was a bit of confusion, but in reality and performance it was worth it. Would I recommend it over an Android or a IPad? Hell Yes!!!
Awesome tablet but you can find it cheaper at a Microsoft store online or local.

Summary: This is probably the best tablet for the money, except for the surface pro 2 of course... Microsoft sells this brand new for 699 and the 128gb is sold for 799. Much better price and still a really good product.
Summary: I've been a skeptic of Windows 8 since it came out. I took advantage of an inexpensive upgrade on my home desktop to see what the Windows 8 experience is all about. Overall, I didn't care for it much, but it works nonetheless. When looking into tablet devices, I narrowed my choices down to an iPad Retina Display, Samsung Galaxy 10.1 (android) and the Windows Surface Pro.
Summary: Tech news site The Verge in their review of the Surface Pro asked who this product is for? What is the target market that Microsoft was aiming at with the Surface Pro? The questions were asked as if it were rhetorical, however the answer to me was clear: I am the target market for the Surface Pro. I am a junior app developer by hobby, Engineer and Pharmacist by education who is just a few years out of school.
Summary: Has all the benefits of a normal computer but with the portability of a pad. Has the USB that can drive a printer or other device. The key board has a nice feel to the keys with little pressure. Great product.
