LG G-Slate

  • Conclusion: The T-Mobile G-Slate by LG is a very nice tablet hampered only by its price and tweener size. We love the build quality, attractive looks that remind us of the LG G2x on T-Mobile, and bright display. T-Mobile's HSPA+ network is fast, and if you're in a good coverage area, you won't be pining for WiFi. The Slate is fast, has decent speakers and handles 3D games and video playback well.
  • Pros: High quality materials, bright and sharp display, fast HSPA+ 4G., Pro: High quality materials, bright and sharp display, fast HSPA+ 4G.
  • Cons: Smaller display vs. 10.1" tablets, yet isn't really smaller or lighter. Pricey., Con: Smaller display vs. 10.1" tablets, yet isn't really smaller or lighter. Pricey. No microSD expansion card slot.

Can a 3D camera, fast dual-core processor, and onboard 3G make up for the fact that the LG G-Slate is the priciest tablet on the market?

  • Summary: The big problem for the G-Slate, LG, T-Mobile, and its customers isn’t the gimmicky 3D camera, the lack of an SD slot, or the fact that Android has little in the way of great tablet software. The big sticking point for this device will be the fact that you not only have to pony up $630 just to get in the door, but you’re required to sign up for a restrictive, two-year contract as well.
  • Pros: Display is crisp and clear, Battery life is excellent, Running Android 3.0
  • Cons: Size and shape is awkward, Price with contract expensive, 3D camera is little more than a gimmick
