Needs Upgrade for Android 2.2

Tony B., Newegg
26 July 2012
  • Pros: Works, but somewhat slow
  • Cons: Would be great if LePan would allow or offer an upgrade to the Android 2.2. A-2.2 is a little "old" Also, the 2 gig of onboard memory is restrictive considering most apps from Google Play want to load onto resident memory.

OK , BUT!!!!

Michael T., Newegg
12 January 2012
  • Summary: This is a great tablet for the price, but if you do buy one, make sure you carry a paperclip with you at all times so that if it ever freezes you can hit the reset. Holding the power button wont reset it, only way is to use a pin or a paperclip to reset.
  • Pros: Speedy, nice bright screen, good WIFI range, plays flash videos, and plenty of internal storage and even expandable up to 32gb with external SD card.
  • Cons: Now the bad, and this is a huge bad. First off, I had constant freezes and lock ups and I couldn't get the wifi to stay connected or even stop timing out until I had to write LE Pan and ask for the updated firmware. I updated the firmware and it fixed the connection problems but not the freezing....

Worked great at first

peter s., Newegg
7 December 2011
  • Summary: Le Pan website has RMA and tech support and works with ticket numbers however I have yet to receive a reference # or any response at all. I have tried more than once to contact them.
  • Pros: This tablet doesn't have a cheap feel and is responsive. Worked really well and didn't lag or have problems but this lasted almost 3 months. Now I am on my 3rd attempt to return it for replacement.
  • Cons: The camera is pretty much useless and faces the user. The charger/USB isn't standard which means if it fails you would need to get a new one from the manufacturer. I am sick about buying this because it only worked for a short time and can't get a response from Le Pan. It has only been 2 days but...

so far not great

Graham M., Newegg

  • Summary: I know compatibility with explorer is not specific to this device so i dident account for it in my rating. So far im disspointed because it feels cheap, i needed to write this review to vent the frustration sofar. Keep in mind its an initial review, i will re review if my ezperience improves.
  • Pros: Biggest plus is the price. Nice screen, it seems to open things relativly quickly. The look of the device is good, nice back face.
  • Cons: For starters no usb, not a big deal. First off i got it last and after about 3 hours of use i had two instances where the screen shut off and did not come back. Only forcing a reset brought it back. I can hear small creaks in the design, telling me while the outside looks pretty, its still a rela...

Well made tablet

Amazon Customer, Amazon
5 November 2011
  • Summary: Very impressed with the build quality of the Le Pan tab. Beautiful screen, and much better build than many other tablets, and all tablets in this price range. Runs most apps well, screen swipes not as fast as tablets running duel cores, but who cares. HBO go runs fine.

Good Bang for the Buck

Alper U., Newegg
11 September 2011
  • Summary: I think screen protector is a necessity. If you are looking for performance, I suggest you go for a 1 GB RAM model, with a dual core CPU. People also say Honeycomb 3.1 should be your choice for o/s.
  • Pros: Now I can watch movies, surf the internet, and read my ebooks without burning my laps while laying in bed, and I am no longer squinting my eyes to read stuff on my iphone. I think the battery can endure at least 6 hours of intense usage (video, chess, installations, ebook). 1024x768 resolution is...
  • Cons: I still could not pinpoint the issue (it could be hardware or froyo 2.2 or 512 MB RAM or 1-core CPU) that sometimes the screen freezes, but eventually it responds to the command (after a 30-60 sec duration). This only happens when I want to do so many things at the same time. The headphone jack o...
