Webos is the true tablet OS.

bweber85, CNET
26 January 2012
  • Summary: I searched and searched for my touchpad for three days and became obsessed with that fire sale price. I never could find it so I had to break down and get one on ebay. I overpaid but I still paid less than the initial buyers. One of the best decisions that I ever made. The touchpad is slow at opening an app up but after it is opened you ready to fly. It is the ultimate travelling tool tool. I could never go without it.
  • Pros: Webos on a tablet need I say more. I will anyway, 10" tablet is perfect sized., Just heavy enough to feel sturdy but not like a boulder., Great sound., Front facing camera., True multitasking
  • Cons: Back plate is a fingerprint magnet and scratches easily., Still somewhat buggy, Slow to launch apps, Small app selection, Discontinued Product

New or Used?

barbara, Amazon
10 November 2011
  • Summary: All I am saying is if you are advertising a product as NEW it should be NEW Byers beware!!! Although I own and love my HP Touchpad I thought I would get one for my husband. When Amazon advertised the white 64GB at these prices I should have been more skeptical considering the price I paid for my 32GB. I thought two different colors and his with more space I would get mine back form him; any way I placed the order and receive the so called NEW HP Touchpad in white 64GB.

speedy but heavy

nancyk, Mwave.com
17 September 2011
  • Summary: Absolutely must get the keyboard! It makes the experience almost like an ultraportable netbook. Flash, videos, hulu/ netflix work well. However, the lack of a mouse cursor sometimes makes it hard to click on exactly the right thing, and the screen can be a little dull in responding to taps.
  • Pros: portable, good size for playing / typing etc.
  • Cons: a little heavy to carry for extended periods of time, like when youre reading. limited apps in webos store. Lack of a mouse cursor.

HP TOUCHPAD

M. Suter "Prof Shopper!", Amazon

  • Summary: Ok its not an iPad, but it more or less does everything an iPad will do (apart from the Apple apps) Bought this for my 9yr old son, had a good deal when HP were getting rid of them and thought would try it Turns out to be great it can skype, use internet, facebook, photos, e.mail, google maps and loads more and loads of games for my son to play, so no problems with recommending it for use All in all what more can an iPad do that this cant?? not a lot?!

Good tablet for those not wanting to spend a fortune on something they'll only use for surfing...

  • Excerpt: Like the others who have reviewed this product already, I snatched one of these HP Touchpads on the cheap when HP announced that they were being discontinued. I hadn't really been looking for a tablet at that point in time but as they were selling for £89, it was an opportunity too good to miss. So, the Touchpad arrived and I carefully unpacked it from the well presented packaging.
  • Pros: Reliability

HP Touchpad 64gb White

Harmonymike, Amazon
25 November 2011
  • Summary: This is a GOOD product and am very pleased with my recent purchase. When researching the iPad/Tablet, "Apple" -as a consequence of massive advertising- seemed to have grabbed the greater share of the market, notwithstanding their higher prices, with Samsung and Archos being the other major players. I was pleasantly surprised to find that HP had actually produced one as well.

HP Touchpad better than expected!

TopPurcha..., Ciao
13 October 2011
  • Excerpt: "I bought this touchpad expecting it to only be able to do the things you might think for as cheap as it is. But once I opened it up and started to play around with it, I realized that it can do almost anything that my friend's iPad can do. The downside is that there aren't a whole lot of apps for this yet but more are coming and i'm looking forward to it. In my opinion this is the best way to go if you are looking for a good tablet that you want to ...
  • Pros: Fast, cheap, good picture quality
  • Cons: Lack of apps
