Beware - Major Battery Drain Issues

hobib, Amazon
31 October 2013
  • Summary: I did not purchase my 2 Envy x2 hybrids from Amazon. But I feel that I must share my knowledge about this product with potential buyers and hopefully the HP engineering department. The laptop/tablet is amazing for what it is. It is not the fastest processor or the highest screen resolution for the tech geeks out there.

Shows Potential, Poorly Executed

LW, Amazon

  • Summary: With the HP Envy X2, HP looks to usher in a new era of personal computing, one in which the power of a laptop is combined with the portability of a tablet. It's important to note that the X2 runs full Windows 8, meaning you can download any legacy applications, a.k.a. applications that run on the desktop. You also have the option to purchase apps in the Windows Store, similar to Google Play. This combined makes Windows 8 not to bad.

Beautiful but disappointing

  • Summary: I researched and planned for this computer and thought I had found one that would meet all my needs. The ordering service was good and the package came on time and well wrapped. The disappointment came when I tried to register it and found they kept wanting to give me the script in French. Then I noticed that the keyboard had the letters in the wrong order. I sent it back through the usual channels which was an easy process and was promptly credited.

We'll see...

  • Summary: We purchased this from another retailer. Loved a lot about it, but when it comes down to it, it looks like the screen just wasn't well constructed. Noticed light bleed on the right side of the screen, which I was almost OK with. Shortly after starting to use it, I either noticed a dead pixel or it died. Either way, wasn't too happy at that point.

Im disappointed

  • Summary: My laptop came on time, I fell in love with it immediately . During the first week of use my drives stop working. I contact HP and the warranty is still good so after trouble shooting with them they asked me to ship it to them for repair, and a week and a half later I'm still waiting for my computer. So by now im not sure about the product. It was brand new.

Too Good to Be True

Geek2Chic, Amazon
21 May 2013
  • Summary: I purchased the HP Envy X2 in Feb after raving about it for months to my friends and co-workers, but then returned it almost immediately, because I was getting fed up and frustrated with it. I re-purchased it again sometime in March because Staples had an amazing deal, and I wanted to give it another try. Granted, I did extensive research prior to purchasing it.

Great in Theory

  • Summary: After my msi A6200 laptop (which I loved, loved, loved!) was stolen, I spent weeks researching my next laptop. I was hoping that this machine would be the perfect compromise between speed and flexibility, but... I'm still struggling with it. The package is beautiful of course, and the flexibility of pulling the screen off and using it as a tablet is fun (It's like I can say to myself, "OK, done with work, now let's play...) but not always practical.
