A Beautiful Piece of Computing Hardware

Philip M. Jones, Amazon
3 March 2015
  • Summary: I have owned many windows and apple laptops over the years and they have had their pros and cons. I can say without a doubt that the Chromebook Pixel has the best build quality of any laptop period. The difference is apparent the moment you hold it. This is the only notebook that has a trackpad better than my retina macbook pro. It isnt the thinnest laptop but it's design speaks volumes.

  • Summary: Battery life was four hours, even though I was using wifi rather than 3G. This limited me to using it where I could plug in.

Review of the Google Chromebook Pixel LTE Version

Ken Rodino, M.D., Amazon
4 January 2015
  • Summary: The Google Chromebook Pixel LTE Version is one of the most elegant and sophisticated portable computers ever made. It is truly a marvel of design and engineering. Its stark simplicity and minimalist form factor confer an understated aesthetic and beauty to this computer. Together with the MacBook Air, the MacBook Pro, the ASUS Zenbook line, and the Samsung Series 9 and ATIV Book 9 Ultrabook computers, the Google Chromebook Pixel is one of the most stunning portable...

Good Laptop - Almost Great

RailFan, Amazon
29 December 2014
  • Summary: Purchased from Google. Does everything except run Windows apps, and does them 20 times faster. Do not charge while in use. The charging port is poorly mounted, and it worked loose after less than a year of normal use. This is the reason for not giving 5 stars.

Gorgeous Machine Inside & Out !

hdtravel, Amazon
11 July 2014
  • Summary: This is just the BEST laptop I have ever owned. The all metal design is beautiful and awesome looking. It is fast and boots instantly. The screen is the BEST of any laptop made - just gorgeous. The audio sound is the BEST on any laptop made. Very loud and clear and movies sound and look just awesome on this gem. The fact that the screen is a touchscreen is incredible too - very handy and very responsive. If you want the BEST laptop you can buy then this is it.

mehhh its overrated.

Josh, Amazon
2 July 2014
  • Summary: The Pixel is meant to be a stepping stone. Google actually says it "verbatim". That being said, almost $2,000 for google drive, gmail, and chrome is ridiculous. I wouldn't pay $1500 just to have a "retina" screen... lol it performs good. it works yes. turns on quickly. if you want a cromebook, IMO, just download chrome, use google drive, gmail, and google notes, and calendar and you're set. guess what? those applications are free...

Best. Hardware. Evar. I use it like an appliance, even though I'm a developer.

BraveNewCurrency, Amazon
21 June 2014
  • Summary: First, the hardware: It's light and thin enough that there is little difference between this and a tablet when carrying it around. The lighted keyboard is perfect for late-night hacking. The screen as as good as any. The touchscreen is a bit of a gimmick: occasionally useful, but awesome for showing off. The WiFi seems to get better reception than other laptops. Obviously, it can't be "used" as easily as a tablet when you are on-the-go.
