Excerpt: I got the Dell Streak 7 for a present for my son and at first we thought it was great for him. The product had a camera to take pictures. He could use the videocamera feature to video items of interest or himself. We could access the internet easily. Typing with a touch screen and navigating menus was challenging with this product. It was hard to find menus especially if I downloaded something I would have hoped it be easier to find the download. Then the charger broke.
Excerpt: After walking out of the store I was able to use my new iPhone 4 right away, because of it’s amazing user-friendliness. I cannot say the same about Dell Streak, and I was very disappointed because I really would like a bigger screen, but, I will just have to wait for Apple to make one because the Dell Streak, just like my Dell laptop, has major issues with it’s keyboard, that costs me time and money everyday.
Summary: As a concept, this phone was a really good idea...a lovely large 5" screen for optimised web browsing and app useage...but there was something fundamentally wrong about the Dell Streak...and this has now been discontinued by Dell. I had this phone as my work phone for a little while...and we saw ALOT of these come in for touch screen and LCD issues...mine befell the same fate and stopped responding to the unlock panel when someone was calling me!
Pros: Large display for web browsing, Android OS
Cons: Poor UI, not updatable past Android 2.2, better alternatives
"Practical and good designed item. Unfortunately, in my case faulty."

Summary: In November 2011 I purchased the Dell Streak 5" and I found it practical and not as cumbersome to carry like the 7" or a 10" from other companies. The Dell Streak performed well during the first 3 months than there were intermittent reception faults on the data site. Mind you I live about 200 meters of the next transmission tower and there should be no difficulty with the reception.
Pros: Small, handy, lightweight and good looking, very practical.
Cons: Performance of the mobile broadband is patchy even under best conditions.
