Dell Streak 7 Review Roundup: 'Meh' Would Be An Understatement

Android Police
12 August 2011
  • Excerpt: Let's face it: Dell's new Streak 7 isn't exactly the hottest member of the CES Android tablet litter. In fact, the seven-inch tablet's mediocre screen and disappointing performance became painfully visible, even in the short period of time we Well now the early reviews are in - and frankly, they don't give Dell's latest entry into the world of Android much hope, despite its low price tag ($199 on contract) and dual-core Tegra 2 processor.

Dell Streak 7 (T-Mobile)

PC Magazine
17 July 2011
  • Conclusion: One of the first Tegra 2 tablets, the Dell Streak 7 shows the promise of Nvidia's speedy mobile processor, but struggles in several different ways. This is not the 'droid you're looking for.
  • Pros: Tegra 2 processor makes it the fastest tablet we've tested. Sensitive capacitive touch screen. 5-megapixel camera with LED flash, front-facing camera.
  • Cons: Download/upload speeds not comparable with other 4G devices. Preloaded apps for video and photo use lower resolution and image quality by default. Video chat apps are nearly unusable. Poor battery life.

Review Dell Streak 7" Tablet/MID

Notebookcheck
28 May 2011
  • Summary: Medium or well-done? Dell also wants a part of the tablet market with the 7 inch tablet. The Streak is based on the Android 2.2 operating system and is driven by a Tegra dual core processor clocked with 1 GHz. Is Dell's Streak just raw meat or well-done?
  • Pros: Very handy, small size, Fast Tegra2 processor, A 16 GB memory, Controls, GPS receiver, Dell's tablet is very handy with its small size. The Streak can also be used as a full-fledged navigation system due to the installed GPS receiver. Dell also offers matching car accessories.
  • Cons: No HDMI, Omitted basic applications, High price, Two applications that other manufactures always standardly install: First a task manager and second, a file manager. These first have to be downloaded from an AppStore.

Dell Streak 7 Review

ubergizmo.com
21 February 2011
  • Summary: Dell has chosen a powerful hardware platform for its latest Tablet offering. This is a good choice, as faster browsing and faster Adobe Flash support make the user experience better. The hardware is also currently the best you can find to play 3D games. However, the user experience lags the competition in two ways: the low-resolution display and the overall use of the extra screen surface.
