Excerpt: Tablets are raining down left, right and centre, rainy season or not. Well known for its audio equipments, Creative recently jumped into the tablet fray with its very own 7-inch creation, the Ziio. The tablet is priced below Rs.
Excerpt: The Creative ZiiO 7 is a 7-inch Android tablet with a WVGA touchscreen, front-facing VGA camera (for video calls) and an array of "standard" Android apps like browser, media player, maps, YouTube client and so on.
Pros: Verizon 4G LTE network is incredibly fast, 32GB microSD card included, Integrated kickstand works in portrait and landscape
Cons: Battery life is among the worst weve ever seen, No 4G LTE power toggle option, Kickstand in landscape orientation blocks microUSB port
Summary: 7 inch entertainer. Creative launches entertainment tablets for little money with its ZiiO range. Despite the low price, the tablets are to be suitable for rendering HD media. In any case, a 1 GHz CPU does its job inside the small devices.
Pros: Comfortable to hold, Built-in webcam, HD rendering, Connecting to TV, Wireless connection with speakers, Fast notes via stylus (no text detection), Price, Smooth rendering of HD Ready (720o) videos and the good interaction of ZiiO 7 and TV set. The device's handiness was also convincing.
Cons: Resistive touchscreen, Old Android version, No FullHD, Handwriting detection not fully developed, A capacitive touchscreen would have been very good for the ZiiO, even if it would have made it more expensive. Also, smooth FullHD rendering would have been a nice extra.
Summary: Creative’s first attempt at a tablet is a major let down. And to top it off they have priced it at a crazy Rs.17,999. If it was priced somewhere around 10K, it would make a decent buy considering it plays full HD movies, WiFi and runs Android.
