Summary: Yes, it's cheap, but you get what you pay. This tablet is very slow and sometimes it does not respond to commands. Back button is very annoying - I keep accidentally touching it all the time. Also, it restarts itself at random times even when you're in middle of being used. It gives no warning or any signs that it is going to happen, it just suddenly turns off and on again without possibility of saving what you have worked on till then.
Summary: Update I called Coby today about my Coby MID7042-4 tablet thay've had for 67 days to repair. Coby response I should recevie it Thursday. Almost the same response I've gotton everytime I've called. Below is my orignal review: I usually don't review products I've bought. However I thought I'd share my experience with Coby tablet repairs. The speakers quit working on my Coby tablet after 32 days Amazon couldn't help because more than 30 days had passed.
Summary: Ok Product. It does not work with Google Play store; it has Getjar which is very limiting for apps; however, with assistance from seller able to obtain alot of apps that were needed from Amazon Apps Store. No good cases available for this product; only a sleeve at this time which is only very dissapointing.
Summary: I bought this for my daughters birthday. It's not and IPAD but it does what it needs to do.. She loves it, so mission was accomplished.. As I do prefer my IPAD over this.. I like the fact it has live wall paper like apple products, it doesn't have the apes you would have on apple but like I said my daughter likes it so it did its job..
Excerpt: While my daughter wanted the Kendle fire, we did some research and found the Coby Kyros. Its great for my teen. She can do everything she wanted to with the Kendle. And more. She can get to her E-mail, play words with friends on Face book, (and angry birds), and we found a case that has a key board that makes it a perfect little computer. We got a great price on Amazon right before Thanksgiving, I know the price has gone up slightly right before Christmas.
Excerpt: We ordered this last year for Christmas. This tablet was cheaper than all the other tablets. We have not been impressed with it. It tends to freeze when trying to play games and use other apps. A lot of the apps do not work with the Coby. The Netflix app would not work on the tablet. I would spend money on a better brand.
Excerpt: I really like this tablet, I bought it for my younger sister and she loved it. She uses it for all of her internet needs and also uses it to read books. She even uses it for school work. This cute little tablet is easy to use and good for teenagers. Just be careful not to drop it.
Excerpt: Returned this product. Purchased for the large screen and reasonable price; however, I was very disappointed in the available apps. If you're used to the quick uploads/updates and varied applications of your SmartPhone (Android), you will not be happy with this. At $199, Kindle Fire is a better purchase; albeit a smaller screen. Battery drains very quickly. Heavy to hold. Very poor and limited apps. Purchased for the big 10.1" screen. Appears very sturdy.
Excerpt: The version I have is not the exact same one. I have the MID1126 so there might be some variations to it. I like my tablet but it does not have access to the Google Android Market. It does have access to its own market and there is Amazon's Android apps as well as several free app sites. I mostly use my tablet for reading e-books, playing a few games and light internet use. It is a fairly basic android tablet and it gets the job done.
