  • Summary: Wow!!! I bought this for my son, he wanted one for his birthday and I couldn't afford a new one. It is sold as used but you could tell it had hardly been out of the box, the cables etc were still in the original packaging with no sign of having been opened. It arrived very quickly and I now have a happy (if a little too techy!

Blackberry Playbook: Alternative to the Ipad

illusivem..., Ciao
25 April 2013
  • Excerpt: Around October 2012 my dad told me someone from work bought a Blackberry Playbook, I assumed they would have been around £300 - £500 from the features it had but he told me they had been reduced to £130 (for the 64GB model), I then decided I would ask for one for Christmas. I received the Blackberry Playbook on Christmas morning and within minutes of using the tablet everything else went out of the window (not literally of course), my brother also received the same...
  • Pros: 64gb internal storage, Flash support built in, most video formats supported

  • Summary: it really depends what you want to use the tablet for ... if you really care about big space and are at low budget, then sure this is a good buy for you ... should you be willing to pay 150 euro more and go to one of the new 7" android or apple tablets but at small storage and still get a better resolution screen, better responsive touch, access to bigger apps store, and not have your explorer minimize by itself or open sites like facebook strangely ...

  • Excerpt: The Playbook, one of the least anticipated mainstream tablets of all time, has its reasons to be the least anticipated mainstream tablet of all time. I bought it because it was cheap, and when it arrived, I wasn't instantly disappointed, but that feeling came very quickly through my experiences with it. The first thing I noticed when it arrived, was its bulkiness, it is very thick, and the bezel is enormous.

  • Excerpt: The Blackberry Playbook is an excellent tablet PC which although the app store does not currently have as much games and other apps. Because you can use android apps on the playbook if you convert them first which allows you to use some of the apps from android although not all of them are guaranteed to work.

  • Summary: Miles cheaper than the Ipad and just as good. The only downfall is on the app store as there is not a lot of apps to choose from but fast web browsing and the touch screen is extremely sensitive.

  • Summary: I have a Blackberry Phone, so i love the fact the tablet pairs to it. it means while im out and about i can still get internet via my phone on the tablets and streaming is still reasonable fast if the signal is good. Don't like the fact that some of the free apps for blackberry phone, have to be paid for on the tablet and some of the appt load and then dont work.

  • Summary: This is my first tablet I started using. Have to be said that I was amazed by it. The screen, the resolution , the sensitivity of the touch function is great. also It has a really solid feel and the appearance of it is more elegant then other tablets on the market. The processor does it's job great, and you can switch between application really easy. If you turn it off however it takes a while (approx 5mins) to boot up again.

Impressive tablet. I'm glad I was able to get one.

  • Summary: I had a long internal conflict with myself... buy an iPad, buy a Nexus 7... or get the Playbook. I must be honest, the fact that I own a BlackBerry Torch (and love it) and that the Playbook connects so nicely to the BlackBerrry had a strong point. However, I test-drived all three tablets (iPad, Nexus and PB) and felt more comfortable using the PB. Now... apps... oh geez... I don't need 500,000 apps, I would be bankrupt by the time I buy the first thousandth.
