Asus VivoTab Note 8

Recombu
14 November 2013
  • Summary: "Not a bad review for what is currently one of the best Win8.1 8inchers on the market. The best way to think of this if you're in the market for one is that it is the most rounded out there. It may not have the ultimate spec in any one category but what it does is bring together all the solid aspects of the competitors into one tablet and delivers exactly what it sets out to. Good battery, good visuals, good interface (pen/touch/win8 desktop/metro apps).

  • Summary: "I bought this and am just loving the inking technology and OneNote. Also, the sounds is utterly amazing. Will be installing Adobe Lightroom and Creative Suite soon. Just wish it had a slot for an LTE sim card.

Great tablet

Richard, Amazon
3 May 2014
  • Summary: I’ve had the tablet a month and considering the mixed reviews on Amazon wanted to add another view. As another reviewer experienced, the first tablet I received had a dead zone on the screen where neither touch nor the digitizer worked. Sent it back to Amazon and a replacement was with me in two days. This one works as it should. Key pros to this tablet: -Full Windows so runs Office (yes, Office is included).

Great idea killed by execution

remk, Amazon
29 April 2014
  • Summary: I was really looking forward to getting this device, having full Windows tablet with Wacom pen was exactly what I needed. Unfortunately, on my unit there were areas on the screen that simply did not recognize any pen input at all, which made editing photos / artwork and taking notes a frustrating experience. After countless hours spent on calibration, consulting tabletpc forum etc. enough is enough and the tablet goes back to Amazon.

Full version of Windows 8.1 in an 8" Tablet

A. Camilleri, Amazon

  • Summary: After owning the very successful nexus 7, also made by Asus, I had some great expectations for this tablet. I must admit that my initial impressions were not very favourable when compared to the Nexus 7, namely the screen resolution and battery life. Yet on further use and level playing field comparisons, I find the Asus Vivo Tab Note 8 to be very good when compared to other tablets running Windows 8. The first think that you will notice is the sturdy build quality.

  • Summary: After owning the very successful nexus 7, also made by Asus, I had some great expectations for this tablet. I must admit that my first impressions were not very favourable when compared to the Nexus 7, namely the screen resolution and battery life. Yet it has to be said that this is like comparing apples to oranges. Si I decided to perform some level playing field comparisons,(comparing it to other 8 inch tablets running Windows 8).

Does not come with Microsoft Home and Office 2013

J. Crosby "GSBIKER", Amazon
11 March 2014
  • Summary: It is completely unacceptable of all the lazy journalists raving about the Asus Note 8 to claim it comes bundled with Office Home and Student 2013 - It does not! I phoned ASUS who also confirmed it does not come with a license or product key to use Office. ASUS are obviously very happy to continue with this critical misunderstanding. What I don't get is why nobody else has mentioned this???? It's a great pity as it sours the good points about this little computer.
