Nice idea, not robust enough design

Summary: It would be great if it worked properly but it just never has. The touch screen broke first time I used it as a tablet, I think just by the pressure of being docked. Never fixed because it would just happen again since it's a design flaw.
Pros: Full OS, tablet/netbook, with external screen use as desktop
Cons: Design flaw breaks touchscreen at dock, flimsy connectors, recharging problems, insufficient memory, not real tablet without 2nd camera
Summary: Honestly, two stars is generous. This laptop stops working completely and won't turn on sometimes, as a student this is particularly annoying when I need to access a paper on the laptop! I've only had it a year. The battery life is absolutely horrible and a pain to fix.
Summary: Last year I bought a Toshiba laptop for one of my son's for school. It worked fine, but he complained that with all of his books, it was too heavy. After a full year at school, there was no damage. This fall l bought an Asus Transformer book for him and his brother.
After a few month of ownership I say you Probably Should Avoid

Summary: Here's an update after a few months of ownership- This device has been a big disappointment after using it for a while. The case creaks and squeaks, and generally feels poorly made, the screen has issues, and battery life has been inconsistent.
Summary: This review would have been a five star until the hard drive failed in the dock/keyboard after two months of use. I recieved this as a Christmas present and I really liked the unit. Then one day I turned it on and the dock made a ticking sound and the D: drive was not visible.
Summary: Don't buy this PoS tablet. I've had it for 4 months now and this tablet for light computing: reading PDFs, web browsing, editing text files, that sort of thing. Charging on this thing is slow, it takes almost 3 hours to charge it completely from 20%.
Consider a different brand, maybe a different operating system too...

Summary: Design is terrible: It is top heavy so if the tablet is attached to the keyboard and you are not careful, you may have an accident when it tilts back and lands on whatever surface is behind the screen (so far I have been lucky and I have been able to catch it before the somersault takes place).

Summary: received item as a Christmas gift. Tablet worked fine for a couple of days and then the touch screen started to not work. Called ASUS support and received no help ( actually wanted to charge a $99 consultation fee ) . Called MS Wins and they had no idea as to why it didn't work.
