Summary: I have owned my ASUS EP121 for just over 3 years now. Off the bat, if you aren't an intermediate or advanced user look elsewhere - this beast can take a bit of work to get purring how it should. When it's cracking on correctly, there isn't much that can touch it, even now.
Summary: Open the cover gently. Look at where the headphone jack is, and roll in the electric tape some foam and slide it between the two boards. Make sure not to have the board lifting too much once the foam is under, otherwise you will create a stress point in the board and with time it will break.
Pros: The tablet idea is great and to have Windows running on it makes it even better, since everything you do on a regular computer can be done on the tablet. The tablet has 2 USB ports, DVI and a SD, MMC ports. The tablet has great features and love the tablet feel and look.
Cons: Now, the drawback is the engineering, tech support and support from Asus directly. After few days of use, the headphone jack stopped working in stereo and played only mono. When you touched the screen the sounds went mute completely. Called tech support and they say to ship the tablet, at my own ...
Summary: I just want to state, that I love my Slate.(rhymed :P) I think it throws people because it's called a tablet, and expect tablet-like behavior and features. A common complaint I hear is about the battery life, but you need to remember THIS IS A COMPUTER. It can do way more than a dinky little iPad.
Summary: I bought an Asus Ep121 about a month ago and have put it through some serious paces so I finally feel I can review it well from an animator's perspective. Sorry if it's a bit random since I'm just writing as I think of things to say. I work as a director in the L.A.
Summary: I have had the Asus EEE Slate EP121 for over 6 months now and I'm still enamoured with it. My career is Interactive Media (Internet Marketing) and I have to be attached to a computer pretty much most of my life. The Asus is an EXCELLENT tool for me to use when I present to clients or am traveling.
Summary: The USB protectors could use some love as the method to get them pulled out is a bit of a pain. Minus that I just really wish it had a bigger HDD and possible 3g/4g.
Pros: If you are looking for a tablet, either get this one or the one above it that is more for "business individuals". I have played with a ton of tablets and this by far takes the cake and is almost exactly what I want.
Cons: HDD space is weak but that's to be expected for SSD and how new the tech still is. Give it about another year and you'll be able to get a lot more space for your buck.
Summary: I need to replace my old and failing laptop for school. I had a few key needs: must have a large multi-touch screen, must be light weight, must have a battery that lasts for at least 3 hours for note taking, must have a stylus, must be less than $1500 (I am a masters student), and I had a need to...
