Quality Control Issues & no TPM

commonSense, Amazon
5 April 2012
  • Summary: We bought 50 of these for our audit staff. In less than a year, already two of them had to be sent back because the display would not go on after powering on the device. ASUS tech support was responsive, but we still had to be without the devices for a couple of weeks while they were being repaired. Also, in case you are planning to use this device with Bitlocker drive encryption, there is no built in TPM (Trusted Platform Module).

"True blue power to replace the laptop, and that apple!!"

cnetvampy, CNET
26 November 2011
  • Pros: 1)All the usual ports (usb, etc) available! 2)Perfect screen size. 3)Sniper sharp stylus, without battery and neatly concealed. 4)Able to run the usu Win files. 5)Fairly light-weight, factoring the screen size. Anything lighter is much appreciated.
  • Cons: 1)Unrealistic battery life for a tablet. As a student/mobile worker, you cant go far with a 3hr real-life span. 2)Not too sure if the 64bit Win7 is compatible with all the 32bit apps and files. Most of the existing machines are still running 32bits.

Shi LiQiang, Amazon
15 August 2011
  • Summary: The lcd screen is good. But the battery is not good. When I watch TV, it is only able to maintain 2 hours. It is too short to me. And the windows 7 system ocuppies too many disk space. The total flash space is 32 G. There is only 9 G disk space left to use.

FIRST: Think about how you'll use it

AZ Teach, Amazon
13 February 2011
  • Summary: I was looking for a "total solution" that would enable me to take written client notes during sessions, view streaming Adobe Breeze courses, give me portable access to Blackboard to do grading and post documents easily, carry around during class to take notes, and use for media consumption during workouts at the gym. Therefore, I really, really wanted a tablet/touch pc.

Great functionality but heavy and noisy, will go an iPad next time

matt050481, Ebay
8 December 2013
  • Summary: We purchased this product so we could tie in to the main computer upstairs. We are reasonably happy with the tablet except the weight and the fan noise it is no where near the ease of using an iPad.

Asus Eee Slate EP121 - creativity yes, productivity no

Lancelotlink, Amazon
3 October 2011
  • Summary: If you are considering buying this product I advise you to bear in mind the following; if you needs are mostly productivity based like e-mailing, creating and editing dcuments, working with Excel spreadsheets and similar and you think the Ep121 is going to provide a full-on Windows working environment with touchscreen capability, think again.

Could do better

Johnny, UK "Johnny", Amazon
1 June 2011
  • Summary: The Asus EP 121 is a great device, it has the power that I need for everyday work and meant I could stop carrying my heavy laptop around. I had no problem writing, although for longer documents the keyboard is definitely a must; saying that the on-screen keyboard is great to use. In all the input methods are fantastic and although the pen takes a little getting used to if you are new to pen input once you are used to not using a mouse it is more comfortable.

La tablette dopée made by Asus

Blunderbore, Ciao
18 July 2013
  • Pros: puissant
  • Cons: lourd, chauffe, cher, commence à être vieux
