Wi-fi makes it virtually unusable

Summary: tried two of these (first one broke about an hour of usage, gyroscope died), on both of them wi-fi barely worked. It worked OK if the tablet was within maybe 10 to 15 feet of router. Anything further and the speed went down to crawl.
Summary: This purchase was such a big disappointment to me. I had read all the pre-release reviews and was excited to purchase it from Amazon on Jan. 20th 2012. The learning curve to Android was difficult since I didn’t have a smart phone, but I figured it out. I bought it because so small to travel with. The problems started immediately with reception in hotel rooms. I had to depend on my husband’s laptop to check emails and search the web.
Summary: My tablet has awful WiFi/GPS connectivity and the ASUS Android wrapper is terrible, it crashes constantly, including apps like Skype and Facebook. I sent it in to be 'fixed' but it's not any better and they won't do anything more. With the keyboard I spent $800 on a machine that I cannot use for what I intended.
Worked flawlessly for 2 months. Then randomly died.

Summary: I bought this tablet two months ago to help tidy up my book collection. I hadn't been doing much reading lately. The tablet received little use and wasn't subject to any physical harm. As of last week, it just wouldn't turn on. Apparently this is a common problem with this model. I'm furious. Dealing is ASUS is long, monotonous joke.
Summary: Terrible Tablet.... very poor design and no way to reasonably fix it.... check out comments on line from many others...... Fortuneately I bought mine from Amazon and after 9 months of terrible WIFI and other connection issues - I called Amazon in frustration with Asus & ******* Amazon took it back and gave me a full credit... ****** The aluminum case was great except - duh - it prohibited wifi and created other issues with reaching out ... NO fix from Asus/..
Pros: Gorilla glass Physical Keyboard and the spare battery (it desperately needs it) Screen resolution Camera
Cons: Poor performance even on "hi performance" mode Can't handle videos on websites very well Very slow & hangs/crashes too often Problamatic VOL keys, gets stuck Keyboard is *not* well integrated with Android Memory card slot doesn't secure card properly
Worst tablet and customer service I've ever experienced
3 December 2012
Summary: I don't normally write reviews. Most products are not good or bad enough for me to care. This is honestly the worst experience I have ever had with a product. My need for a laptop replacement for college is the only reason it wasn't immediately returned. The short version: don't buy it. The customer service is worthless and the quality control is nonexistent. Go buy a Nexus 10 or something else from Samsung. PROS: None.
