Summary: With only a single USB connection and no SD card slot or video output, the Archos 9 isn't very port-friendly. We would have especially liked to see an SD card reader, which would make this a potentially useful tool for on-the-go photographers. Some additional connections, including two extra USB ports and an Ethernet connection, are available via an Archos port replicator. We thought we'd seen some slow Netbooks before, but nothing quite like the Archos 9.
THEY ARE A BIT SLOW, BUT ARE LIGHT ENOUGH TO BE ABLE TO TAKE THEM ANY WHERE

Summary: I REALLY LIKE THE SIZE OF THE ARCHOS 9 TABLET PC. iT COULD USE A BIT MORE STORAGE ON THE MAIN DISK. THE SCREEN IS VERY CLEAR, AND IS EASY ON THE EYES. AS MOST SMALL TABLETS, IT COULD USE BETTER SPEAKERS, BUT THE SOUND PRODUCING CAPABILITIES ARE QUITE GOOD. IT IS REALLY QUITE EASY TO USE AS A PC, AND CAN HANDLE MORE THAN ONE PROJECT AT A TIME I HAVEN'T REALLY USED IT A LOT, BECAUSE OF MY BUSY SCHEDULE.
Summary: ITS NATURALLY HEAVY BUT I THOUGHT IT WAS A HAND HELD DEVICE AND ITS NOT BUT IT WAS WORTH MY MONEY I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT TO A COMPUTER GEEK ONLY.... MOST PEOPLE WOULD PREFER A ANDROID TABLET.
Summary: I've had this pc tablet for a little over 4 weeks and i'm very pleased with it. The capabilities are quite the same with a netbook that i already own and its way lighter. The touch screen is very accurate, webcam, speakers, all good. I only gave 4 stars because the battery life is unimpressive and there's no HDMI output, and the cramped Hard drive is killing me. However this tablet is very affordable and great to carry around.
It can be improved to deliver a better performance.

Summary: I have Archos toys since 2004. PMP and MP3 players are amazing, now I have the Archos 5 Android 500GB and I love the storage capacity. In regards to this new Archos 9 PC tablet, I have to say I'm a bit disappointed, with an Intel Atom processor and only 1GB RAM it is slow. I think this product can do much better with another version of Windows, for example XP. In general it is OK, what I like the most is the portability.
Summary: To use this you need some technical knowledge and upgrade to Windows 7 Premium. Format the hard drive to gain more space, some space is wasted with a restore partition. I have mine dual booting with Windows 8 Consumer Preview. It is OK on speed if you are realistic this is not an iPad but has many advantages as well such as the latest version of flash. Use one application at a time and it is fine.
Summary: On the whole, the Archos 9 can be used in the place of any netbook style PC running Windows, capable of internet browsing, office documents and the like. However, the biggest flaws I found were the restrictions caused by Windows 7 Starter pack, making it impossible to do such minor tasks as changing the desktop background. Unable to live with this, I almost immediately upgraded to Windows 7 Home Premium edition.
Summary: I had a dying netbook - it starts every other time, it's blown its PSU up - otherwise I probably wouldn't be buying such a thing. This is not a device for the faint hearted. As shipped it is completely unsatisfactory: in particular there is no hibernate (and sleep will drain the battery overnight) and it takes over two minutes to boot even when tweaked a lot.
Summary: Love all things Archos and the 9 did not disapoint. The 7 and 5 are better media players but if you value the Internet experience this may be for you. Boot is no slower than you would expect for a device running windows and the touch screen is responsive. All in all a stunning piece of kit and I am already the envy of the non ipad toting office dwellers. Only real gripe is the lack of an accellerometer. Very last year.
