Summary: I have been using this for more than 2 years. No problems so far. The problem is that if you have many apps, it turns sluggish as it has only 512 MB RAM. Construction is good and solid. It is used by my 4 year old son, but hasn't shown any signs of failure. So far battery backup is good about 4 Hrs. Also front camera is not of great quality.
Summary: This tablet was purchased as a gift. Out of the box it turned on and appeared OK. attempted to connect it to the home network and called Archos for help. They had him turn over the tablet and it said it was a 4G v 8 G. Contacted seller and was given a label to send it back to goHastings.com. Tablet arrived, they checked it out and it was determined it was an 8 g. They sent it back - first shipping took 4 days - the return took 10 days - both via UPS.

Summary: I purchased the Archos 80 G9 8GB in early 2012 as a replacement for an E-reader that bit the dust. Being an avid reader, I use this to load books prior to going on vacation, (beats paying airline overweight baggage fees). However this does so much more, and from "day 1" I was able to use it to connect to various airport and other public web access points to check E-mail, surf the net, and basically do almost anything that I do on my desk top P.C.
Summary: This is a really nice budget tablet that doesn't leave me feeling I'm missing anything. Granted, this is my first tablet, but I use it often and I'm quite happy with it. Some of the things I've used it for is Facebook, web searches, You Tube videos, weather apps, and notetaking. I've had it for a few months now and I use it daily. I find the 8 inch tablet to be a nice size for typing. The keyboard works quite well and I don't find myself mistyping very often.
Summary: I had a Palm PDA to hold info and music and when it went bad after many many years, It seemed that the only thing out there was Apboutple Apple or Apple. Someone told me about Archos I got the Archos 43 to start with and was I impressed with it. After a few months I say the Archos 80 G9 Turbo and got it. I really enjoy it alot and the picture and sounds quality is just great. At present I do not use it to its full extent but I do love what I do with it at present.
Summary: I'm cheap. I don't have huge amounts of money to burn on something that is still quite frankly a consumption device. Thankfully, Archos and I see eye to eye on the cheap thing and the Archos 80 will take you on the best ride for the money. -Look & Feel- The Archos is made of plastic but it feels firm in hand. The plastic doesn't flex under pressure and the entire body looks rather handsome. It's not an iPad, there's no aluminum or minimalistic feel.
