Summary: I've had this tablet for less than a year and a a few complaints. The first being that the screen on this unit is terrible. The outer casing is a cheap plastic. The stand on the back of the tablet is a great idea but the implementation is sub par since it is easy to break and does not easily support the tablet. The customer support for this tablet is one of the worst things I've ever seen. My tablet had multiple large patches of dead pixels on the seen.
Summary: This product quality is poor. The receptacle for the charger broke the first week and cannot be repaired. I purchased 5 as gifts and all had the same problem at different times. No warranty and no recourse from the vendor.
Summary: Purchased this product for my son for a job well done but after 6 months it would not charge. A internet search stated needed new firmware- Did that - worked for a while. Stopped charging again. Thought it might be the cord, bought a new cord, charged for another couple weeks, stopped charging again. Researched some more on the internet found out there is a problem with charging port- limited warranty in my literature in my box.
Summary: bid for the turbo version and sent me the classic version, with 4GB capacity, this model is not on the archos page , I doubt that the product is original .... Summary: I purchased this product 13 months ago specifically because it was an android with GPS. 2 months after i got it, I installed an archos update that killed the gps and support could not or would not help me get the GPS working again. after 6 weeks, a new firmware was released and i got the gps back. 3 months later, the battery would not hold a charge for more than a minute. it took 4 weeks to get the device replaced.
Summary: We bought this device for our son in April 2012. I am writing this review as of October 2012. In the opinion of my son and me, this is a worthless tablet. The customer service is awful. The updates make things slower. The wi-fi connection will suddenly turn off without warning. The kickstand on the back is flimsy. For the low price, it isn't even worth the hassle once you get it. Customer service from Archos is one of the biggest problems.
Summary: I bought the archos 80 G9 tablet 5 months ago and the sound quit working recently. I also got the Turbo 16 gb for my fiance 3 months ago and it stopped holding a charge. It's now useless as it won't charge up. I contacted archos and haven't gotten a reply back from them as yet. If I had know they would be such a problem I would never have bought them. the reviews seemed great till I read some of the blogs on the same problems I'm having. They're both common problems.
Summary: If you see the hardware specs, the actual tablet seen an excellent tablet; However, it perform poorly in any task including constant freeze (does not matter what android or firmware uses), battery compare with ipad is bad, screen is poorly done (touch and pixels), buy another tablet and save your money.
Summary: I bought this tablet Oct 11 and the product itself is "OK". Kind of lags and not as responsive as I would like. That said, it is functional and I liked the size. Anyway, this May the tablet just stopped turning on. All it did was just flash a white screen. I contacted manufacture a month ago, got a Return number with no address or directions on how to get this product serviced. It is within 1 year manufactures warranty.
Summary: I purchased this tablet on Feb. 11, 2012 from another website. At first, I was very impressed with it.However, after about a month, the charging port came loose. I sent it in to be fixed. After almost 2 weeks, I called to check on the status. They told me that it could not be fixed and that they would be sending me a new one. It is now June 18, 2012, and I still have no tablet. Every time I call, it's a different story.
