Summary: Love this tablet when it works, however having to send a 3rd tablet back. Same thing ALL 3 times, USB port pulls out enabling the device to be charged. I can't be anymore careful than I already am after the first time it happened. Hopefully this will be replaced again at no cost, only thing lost is a few pictures.
Summary: So the biggest PRO is that it has Google Play. That's what made it stand out in early 2012 when I originally purchased two of these from Best Buy for use in my classroom. The screen reminded me of my old Samsung Moment- one of the FIRST Android phones made. The screen was not very responsive, it was extremely slow to transition, and the picture wasn't very bright or vivid. This could have been forgiven, after all, at the time it cost $200 and had google play.
Summary: For a small tablet, it's great, however if you're looking for something to read your ebooks on, the battery runs out before you reach your destination. Took it on a plane to Las Vegas from Phila, the battery ran out after about 6 hrs.
Summary: Wow, look at all the negative reviews. To make your Archos 70b experience better, 1) register your tablet online with Archos (this unlocks many features), 2) do a firmware update. 90% of your problems will be addressed. There are multimedia devices that try to be tablets (the Archos 5 Internet Tablet), and there are tablets that try to be multimedia devices (the Archos 70b).
Summary: I am writing this review here because I can't write it where I purchased it. I bought this item from Best Buy.com and the product is no longer on their website. I was so excited to get this tablet when I looked at it online. I looked perfect for what I wanted. I have an iPad 2 which I absulutely love, however I wanted a smaller tablet for better portability. The price was great and for what I need the 8GB storage was fine. Has a sd card slot so that seemed great too.
Summary: For much of my music listening life, I have wanted to own an Archos. I saw this tablet for $99 in a computer store ad and thought, "It's time." I bought mine from that Comp store. The first one wouldn't read the SD card. I returned it 3 days later. The second one wouldn't either, but I decided to give the folks at Archos customer support a try. After the first email (they responded within a day) they asked what class cards I had used.
Summary: I would give it 2.5 if I could. Received this from Beach/Amazon today. I have tried several 7 inch Android tablets...the others were not worth the $350+ that I paid so I either returned or sold them. This one, at $199 was certainly priced better but it was much worse than the Galaxy Tab 7.0Plus that I tried most recently so it too is going back. Pros: Price USB & HDMI ports Kickstand is Awesome.
Summary: As far as functionality, the tablet works well. The screen is responsive, and it's not too difficult to navigate. My only objection is the battery. I allowed it to run very low, and then charged it back up. For some reason, after doing this, the battery will not keep a charge. If you allow the tablet to just sit for a few days, the battery will drain completely.
