Wont even turn on

M Costello, Amazon
12 February 2013
  • Summary: This was purchased for my husband, a Soldier who is set to deploy on 2 weeks so he could skype with the kids and keep in contact when he has a chance. We recieved the Tablet today, and it wont work! Wont charge, wont turn on. We called amazon who put us through to the seller. The seller proceeded to tell us once the package is opened, it cant be returned and were basically out of luck and taking a $160 loss.

A big disappointment

Miss Olivia Tierney, Amazon
8 April 2014
  • Summary: I chose this item as I really like Archos. I have a tablet already and needed this one to watch movies etc. The problem was it didn't even turn on. I had read the reviews but thought that maybe...maybe...faults reviewed in the past might have been rectified. Very disappointed in this device.

An expensive white elephant

I. Smith "Ian H", Amazon
29 October 2013
  • Summary: Before the 30-day return policy elapsed the device failed to show the battery as ever being fully charged, after that expiry the only thing that is functional is a permanent green charging light. The device is a waste of time and money!

AVOID!

Mr. Alan Giles "AlanUK", Amazon
28 October 2013
  • Summary: The tablet is robust and well made, the screen is clear. But that is about the best you can say for it. It is a horrible machine to use, the screen is so unresponsive it is like tapping on double glazing, the pages fail to load, or else appear and then disappear. It completely puts me off the concept of the tablet. Back to the netbook...

Incompatible with almost everything, disappointing

Julie Hastings, Amazon
1 July 2013
  • Summary: Sounded like an excellent idea, large hard drive combined with Android functionality, or so I thought.... As it turns out, after wasting some considerable amount of my time, there were no android apps for this piece of kit to do what I needed it to do. Hard work from the . It would be ok if it was your first portable ereader, media player etc but if you want to integrate to existing accounts forget it!

Absolute rip off - do not purchase!

b milburn, Amazon
3 June 2013
  • Summary: I was given an ARCHOS 70d eReader - 4GB - it was impressive to start with but after a month or so my computer could not connect to it, the USB port was very wonky. Eventually it could not be charged either so now it's just a dead chunk of plastic. The worst part is Archos' complete and utter denial of all responsibility - I have phoned, emailed and written to them and they will not, in any way, repair or replace it; once they have your money you are dead to them.

ARCHOS 70 8 GB Internet Tablet

davel, Amazon
18 February 2013
  • Summary: Purchased this for my grandson to download games ect. It is his first Tablet and I thought Archos would be a good make for him to start with. I've had to go out and buy a replacement (different make) as this particular Archos tablet is not capable of downloading game, the Archos "APPLIB" doesn't work on it and it has a tendancy to freeze. Haven't been able to view youtube on it. Its thrown in a draw and thats where its staying.

DOES NOT SUPPORT MOBI FILES!

Amie P, Amazon
11 October 2012
  • Summary: I was thoroughly unimpressed with this kit! I ordered it for my husbands birthday on 8th October, I ordered it on 3 day expiditred delivery, it took a week to show up. And when it did eventually get here we discovered that contrary to the product description, it DOES NOT SUPPORT MOBI FILES. Kind of useless when you have a library full of kindle books.

Big big disappointment

Barney, Amazon
2 September 2012
  • Summary: The biggest load of rubbish you will ever buy. I was one of Archos biggest fans until buying this load of rubbish. Bought it mainly for taking on holiday instead of a laptop, or I Pad. Had it less than a year, used it twice as soon as I started to use it became aware of its meagre capability compared with an I Pad ( or even an I Pod ) which I resorted to whilst on holiday. It has now given up the ghost, will not charge, or turn on.
