Summary: Each time I called in I spoke to 'managers" who said that my NEW tablet of less than 2mos would not be replaced with another new tab. ONLY rebuilt tab would be sent to me. This was a Christmas gift from my children and they sadly waisted their $$.
Cons: Have had 5 replaced by the Archos Company . My 1st one I had less than 2mos. Called CS, tablet wouldn't charge my new Archos was replaced with a rebuilt one , 2nd tab over heated and the face cracked, 3rd tab did the same as tab #2, 4th tab wouldn't link up w/my wireless, 5th tab is doing the sam...
Summary: This was purchased for my husband, a Soldier who is set to deploy on 2 weeks so he could skype with the kids and keep in contact when he has a chance. We recieved the Tablet today, and it wont work! Wont charge, wont turn on. We called amazon who put us through to the seller.
Cons: I bought it last year and the usb metal plug inside the device got lose and fell inside the device, I sent it for repair and was sent back to me without being fixed. It is very disappointing. I regret spending my money and not being able to use it, is sitting in the closet.
Summary: Biggest problem is the customer non service. The first return resulted in them sending me a refurbished unity with dead pixels and scratches. Sent back, they returned the same unit and said it was fine, even though it wasn't my original unit and even though their claim at the time was that they...
Pros: It was cheap when I bought it.
Cons: Speaker blew within the first month of having it. Customer service is horrible. crashes randomly for no known reason.
Summary: Choose a different tablet (and not the 10" version of this) I have serious buyers remorse with this product. Purchased it in Nov 2010.
Pros: Small, light, ultra portable, its cheap (but you get what you pay for)
Cons: Where to start....battery life is dismal. Still doesn't have flash (from archos). The file system isn't hackable to allow loading of custom roms. Archos is a joke for upgrades. The last update requires you to now buy a codec to play some media formats. I have 2 android tablets and THIS ISNT THE O...
Summary: I did not buy this from new egg, I was looking for a gift for last minute or I would have done more reading prior to purchase, I got this on a VERY cheep sale, as goes the saying, "you get what you pay for" ..I got it, JUNK. Tried before giving, saw problems immed. so got another gift.
Cons: Non responsive screen,( my fingers hurt ) slow to "go" where you want , IF it goes there, at all, and then never have been able to read even smallest article as screen flips 90* then around and around for NO reason, totally on it's own.
Summary: A All R "R" C Customers H Hate O Our S Stuff
Pros: If you like products that break on their own one week after the warranty expires, this is the product for you. The biggest PRO is that I don't own an Archos any more. Threw it and all the accessories right in the trash after dealing with their customer support.
Cons: They make their money by charging their customers to fix their faulty products. They wanted to charge me what I paid for the unit to fix. It broke on it's own. Not a scratch on it, one week after the warranty expired and was very lightly used. You've been warned.
Summary: Have had the device for 27 days - The device came defective with touchscreen issues out of box. RMA in process. Do not buy this tablet unless you absolutely NEED the 250GB storage space.
Pros: * Great Storage Space
Cons: *Low Quality Support from ARCHOS *Insufficient Memory *Poorly implemented Android Firmware *Lagging Touchscreen *Terrible Battery Life *Bluetooth Tether issues *USB connectivity advertisement almost useless *CPU/Memory does not make this a good gaming tablet *Random erratic behavior/reboots from ...
Summary: Great idea, poorly implemented. Not only is the device flawed but the complete lack of customer service from Archos is astonishing. Phone calls, emails and RMA requests go mostly unanswered. When you do get a tech on the phone they lie.
Pros: Size, concept, decent screen, 250gb drive
Cons: - Battery life is dismal. Battery dies in less than 3 days with no use. Archos site claims up to 10 hours of web browsing. I was barely able to get 2 hours. - Bluetooth and/or USB tethering does NOT work on "most phones" as claimed by Archos. Phone tethers fine on my netbook PC. - Archos claims U...
Summary: You get what you paid for with this product. It's low cost so expect low quality and low support. If you can live within the 8gb limitations and slower then expected wireless G connections then the price could be worth it. If you have the budget consider other devices like Samsung or Apple.
Pros: The price for a 2.2 Tablet, but please see the cons.
Cons: With the latest firmware 2.0.71 (Froyo 2.2 based) Wireless N does not work. The device is only Wireless G. The Archos Appslib for applications does not work. Their support site provides a hack to install the standard droid market that works perfectly. The SD memory card works for storage only. Ap...
