Summary: The concept is great, and the price even more so. However, the touchscreen on this device is so unresponsive that it causes me to want to punch it. You will find yourself pawing at the screen over and over just to get it to register the right touch, and then it will make a mistake and think you made a long press when in fact you were just trying to scroll the screen. You have to wait a minute after it boots before doing much because it crawls at a snail's pace.
Pros: Durable, Relatively inexpensive
Cons: Custom version of Android, Few video formats, Poor Controls, Slow
Summary: Archos Tablet Archos is a good company and its MP3 players and most of its products are great but NOT Archos 7 Tablet. And you are probably reading this review because you really wanted to buy this one because it's cheap and you are thinking instead of that iPad this one is a better buy. It's NOT! It is probably one of the worst Tablets in the market, and yes, you'll find it under £99 in Amazon and other sites.
Summary: got the archos 7 ht as a christmas present ...was over joyed at the time, but as times went on i've lost patence with it all it does is crash since i got it ....think its time to sent it back .....
Summary: First one i recievered, the plug blew, but credit to Amazon for sending a replacement. The tablet it self is no ipad, but the Android system is poor and freezers a lot,the touch screen is no good at all and as for the video play, stutters, jumps around but the sound is pretty good.As for the interent, alright at best BUT,the big problem is no support for youtube or any video sites which lets this down overall.
Summary: Well this it the first time ive left a review, but for this item i felt i had to. Previously i had owned an archos 605 Wifi, and as this is a much newer device i expected the same kind of quality. Im afraid this wasnt the case. As a video player, its really very poor - nice big screen which claims to display 16 million colours, but be aware - the android system which this device uses (1.5) is quite dated now, and only supports video playback at 65000 colours.
Summary: Bought this to get the tablet experiance. So-- no camera- no tilt control- no flash video- limited apps- wont play my own movies or some music !!!!!Archos have got along way to go to make this anything like acceptable. I understand you have to spend more money to get codes to play video ect something that is not mentioned in adverts.Cannot recommend this item .
Summary: I bought the Archos 7 hoping that it would fit my needs: a media tablet that's flash based (no hard drive to break when throwing into a backpack), with a good screen, and which can play just about any video format I throw at it. The first thing you'll notice when handling it is that it feels a bit cheap. It's constructed completely from plastic, and the screen feels a bit tacky.
