Excerpt: Its not very good. The screen feels like it will cave in. Apps constantly crash. Very old android. The screen feels like a thin coat of plastic so its flimsy. The back and sides are a nice metal and it has a camera but other than that, its not very good.
Summary: I really wanted to like this product. It had everything I wanted and was very affordable. However, the wifi function was very spotty-basically unusable. Other functions work OK, but the wifi is the whole purpose of an "internet tablet.
Summary: We bought this is June 2013 for my daughters birthday. She has taken excellent care of it.... it was kept in a case and never handled roughly. In fact she TREASURED this. It was great WHILE IT LASTED.... now it is December of 2013 and it will no longer turn on. There is a green line down the middle... and that is all she gets. I am VERY disappointed.... and she is crushed.
Summary: I bought this in October to use as a portable mp3 player with some extended capabilities. Just yesterday, I found it in my bag with three cracks running across the screen. I know that most things become weathered in my bag, but I've never had a problem with any type of electronics being damaged before, including laptops, cameras, phones, and past mp3 players.
Summary: I am a fan of Archos, have been so for a few years now. This tablet has now turned me away. I have had this for about 6 months now and wanted to get good use of it before reviewing it. Don't waste your money... instead purchase a Samsung Galaxy 5.0!!! The display is bad, the response from touch is bad, the bugs are bad, so on so forth! Just don't do it... I really wanted to like this, now I wish I could get my money back!
Not worth the money. Buy a Samsung Captivate for less money.

Summary: These Archos tablets are overpriced and under-powered. You can get a real phone with better specs and run it as a tablet for less money. It runs Froyo. Most phones run at least Gingerbread. Since Archos is working on the next generation of tablets, these Gen8s prob'ly won't get GB. It doesn't come with the Android Market or other Google apps. You can install them, but it's a needless hassle. It's low on memory.
Summary: It worked great the first couple weeks I had it. To be honest, it's kind of a piece of crap. If you type a lot, do NOT buy anything with resistive screen. It's terrible. The sound is pretty good, but the headphones that came with it suck, and the appslib instead of android market is definitely a downside. In all, for the price, this thing really isn't worth it.
