Android operating system does everything

Teacher, Amazon
30 May 2013
  • Summary: Except voice line connectivity. This is the norm for an internet tablet. My only problem is that it hangs periodically when I am playing MP3 music. This is a HUGE problem for me since I bought it for this purpose. I did not want to surf the internet, use WIFI to pick up email, etc.

Unusable touch screen makes the device worthless

DCurro, Amazon
2 November 2012
  • Summary: I've owned the Archos 43 Internet Tablet for one and a half years. The touchscreen is essentially broken. This Archos hosts a resistive touchscreen, which is more workable with a stylus (of which it does not come with). The accuracy on the touch screen is horrible, especially with you are browsing the internet (how to click links in tight spots, even when zoomed in and using a pen lid).

I Absolutely Hate This Thing

Patrick W., Newegg
27 February 2012
  • Summary: I am usually very easy to please, but I cannot express enough my dislike for this device. It stems primarily from the extreme difficulty of utilizing anything due to the resistive touchscreen - this difficulty being exacerbated by the small size of the device. I sold a 4 yr. old Nokia N800 before purchasing the Archos, and I wish so bad I had just kept it as even as slow as it was, it was a far superior device.
  • Pros: Nice Resolution
  • Cons: Resistive Touchscreen! Scratched, Glass screen cracked

WOrst Touch Screen ever

Xavier L., Newegg
21 December 2011
  • Summary: Ive but this one when it was 120$ last year and now the screen is broken. I will never buy an Archos again due to the inacuracy of the touch screen. My Next device will be a Samsung Galaxy Tablet. Note that SAMSUNG have better touch screen then the past years.
  • Pros: Android
  • Cons: 1.Its the worst touch I ever had. INACURATE. 2.For the same Price you can get a Ipod Touch at big surface store (I know androids is better than APPLE OS BUT! if you want 100% quality Android device you need to spend 500$+ for a real Tablet)

Good product, lousy service. Could've been iHappy.

9 December 2011
  • Summary: I bought the Archos 43 not too long ago. I figured I'd try to avoid the iRut that so many people are stuck in & save a few bucks along the way. While this is a good product, I would caution any reader of this review against sending any unit in for repairs--it's nothing but an organization of crooks.

very difficult to navigate

Stephen Oyler, Amazon
4 December 2011
  • Summary: Archos 43 4.3-Inch 8 GB Internet Tablet Given to my daughter as a birthday gift and she was unable to use the MP3 player app as the screen would freeze and the music would stop. She would have to restart the app to get the music going again. She only wanted the MP3 part so I bought her a regular cheap MP# player and it works fine. I now have the Archos and am attempting to learn how to use it.

customer service are liars

Noah B., Newegg
29 October 2011
  • Summary: in their email to me they said if i don't respond within 2 days they will ship it back to me. 8 days later i call them to see where it is/ why its not here yet, they tell me they havent shipped it. the 2 days thing is just a scare tactict. don't let archos scare you into giving them money. they are liars. needless to say, i wont do business with them again.
  • Pros: plays music, videos. lets you go on the internet.
  • Cons: the screen broke after about a month. i emailed customer service. they made me jump through a bunch of hoops to get an RMA number. i told them the screen was broke. they eventually gave me an RMA number and told me to send it in. a few days later they send me an email saying the screen isnt covered under the warranty and if they dont get a response from me within 2 days they are going to mail it back to me. they wanted like $130 to repair the screen. i can get a brand...
