Loved the tablet..Non-functional Wifi..Which defeats the purpose.

Summary: Having bought a previous Colby Kyros, I loved everything about the Archos Tablet. Loved the big screen and the touch input was considerably better than the Kyros. I found no real problem with the visibility that other have noted and found it to be considerably faster and more responsive than my prior Kyros. However...Wifi and Bluetooth were terrible. I could not log onto free Wifi anywhere..Starbucks, McDonalds etc..
Summary: Had this tab for a while. It was ok. The app library was sub par. There is a way to put Google market on the device which is time consuming but well worth it. We couldn't even get kindle until market was installed. I will say I like the full sized USB port and micro USB port on the side rather than the bottom. It has an hdmi out and you can cycle of the tablet screen on/off to save battery. It is not the standard hdmi mini most android uses or a full size hdmi.
Summary: The ARCHOS 101 Internet Tablet 8GB is a useful and entertaining touchpad/tablet. Once you install Google Market on it , you can pretty much start downloading many android apps. You can also download the Amazon app store. Whatever you do, dont stay with the default app-store that comes with it. They say you cannot have both (Google appstore and Amazon). But I have both installed without any problem.
Summary: I love my new Archos, it was a really great price, even though it is refurbished. I wouldn't have been able to get a tablet without this deal. Sadly, though, I do have a problem with g-sensor. It does not will not go one way and goes the wrong way a lot. To solve this problem I just turned it off. Though that means I can't turn the screen it stinks but I think I still got a good deal.
Summary: I'll make this as to the point as possible Good: Screen size Light weight for it's size battery life is not bad Nice speakers, but not great. Even thou is kinda slow, it plays music and videos pretty smoothly. Bad: It's slow. Even when changing screen orientation it has a 3 second delay, scrolling or zooming does not happen smoothly.
Summary: I was really looking foward to getting this, however I was rather disappointed once i started playing around with it. I had no trouble side loading the android market although I did have to do it twice because the first time it locked the screen upside down when viewing in landscape. I was hoping that it would work well as an e-reader however you can't read anything on it for more than a minute or two becasue you have to hold it a certain way in order to see the text at...
Summary: Very weak tablet. A toy for kids. Some words about the Android. When you turn on the tablet, a lot of programs start to run. You didn't want it, but they run! First of all you have to free the RAM. Terrible! When you close a program, you don't know if it was done. For example, open the browser, exit and enter again. You will see the last page open. I cannot recommend to use neither this model (Archos 101), not Android.
Pros: + easy to operate. + good battery life. + small but big. + cheap. + it has USB connections and micro SD card slot. + good video and audio player.
Cons: - the touch screen is not responsive & not smooth. - connection via USB between tablet and computer is not charging the battery. - a bit slow when you open application or folder. - yes, the front camera is horrible. - start up need sometime.
Pros: Does what you need it to do. Good battery life. BIG screen. Good touch Screen. Runs Android 2.2 but IMO the OS is a bit apart from the tablet. Price (at the time). Decent update intervals. Easy RMA when you need it.
Cons: A bit sluggish. Sometimes more sometimes less - each firmware update has it's own effect. Only HDMI video out (I'm still in the dark ages lol). No buttons - sometimes I'd rather NOT have to touch the screen. Archos abandonment issues - they have a tende
