Summary: Very disappointed. OS makes difficult for better applications. Very sluggish. The negative about Android is the OS update an the apps eventually are not supported. Manufactures leave you stranded, they want you to buy a newer model. I'm done with androids until the manufacturers support there product. Hurray Apple! Hurray BlackBerry. Playbook an I never thought I would say this. I look forward to Windows 8 products this winter...
Pros: - HDMI Port - Full size USB port - Micro SD Card slot - Lightweight - Easy to root if you know how - (Via permanent root access) You can unlock the tablet to use the full 10,000+ Google Market Apps - The app LogMeIn For Tablets works - You DO NOT need to
Cons: - When hooking up A101IT to an HD TV via HDMI connection, it doesn't show the soft buttons on the tv cuz I would've like to see them. - Slower than going from say Chicago to Miami in a Gremlin, it may get there eventually. - USB port is good until 6 to 12
Summary: Friends, i had the archos 101 for 3 months i tested it and used it intensively. These are the problems i observed : - device freezes sudenly ( even after full reinitialization ) - battery takes 4 days or more to fully charge - keyboard hard to use because of the time between typing a character and appearing on the screen - camera has horrible imaging quality - after installing some apps it became extremely slow ....
Cons: Extremely slow, software updates just made it worse, now is freezing continuously, screen has weird lines like a grid, in just a word this device is ..... "useless" , i'll throw it away, i lost my money.
Use this machine to see why iPad2 is dirt cheap!!!!

Summary: Two weeks ago I made a BIG mistake: I bought an Archos A101 tablet for myself AND an iPad2 for my wife. I was sure my Android tablet could do everything her ipad could and even more. Ok, so maybe the Archos doesn't have two cameras but I can definitely use the one it has, for my video chatting needs, right? The Ipad2 has a "square" 4:3 monitor while the Archos comes with a "modern" wide-screen and this must be good, right?
Summary: I bought this thing a year ago, and at first, I loved it... Then I bought an iPad 1, and realized what I was missing. The Archos OS compared to the iPad iOS, just doesn't compare. Seriously, don't try to over think the room here, don't try to be cool because you want to be counter culture, just pony up the extra money and get the iPad. Apple has far superior customer support, and a much more stable OS. Learn from my mistake, dont buy the Archos!
Summary: I'm used to my iPhone, but wanted to get a tablet with the Android OS. I spent several days and hours researching and there were plenty of good things about the Archos 101. [...] I got it and wasn't impressed. The Appslib always froze. The apps were small, as if I were using a cell phone and you couldn't make them bigger. Trying to delete things and maneuver the touch screen was a chore. Sometimes it'd work, sometimes it wouldn't.
