Summary: TLDR: don't buy this piece of junk. I got this for $99 from TigerDirect. I needed a tablet to mount in a cabinet as a communal music player. So I wanted something for cheap, with expandable storage. And possibly HDMI out for a larger secondary display. There are a couple issues I have with this device, and one major problem. First, the charging plug is finicky.
Summary: I love the product but the audio jack was broken when I got it, I plug in headphones and I can hear the background but not people talking. When I called to see if I can get it fixed they were going to give a refurbished one.
Summary: I bought the Archos G9 turbo with the intent of using the optional 3g stick to connect to the internet and using the built in GPS funtion of the Archos . Guess what ? They tell me now that the 3G stick only works overseas ! Nice time to find ths out . Sure would have made a difference in my case cause I would not have bought it .
Summary: Not a bad machine for price. The Browser(s) Chrome, Opera and firefox continually crash though. Plays Video Great. The greatest dis-appointment is the fact that this !@#$ thing is supposed to be 3G ready. It is 3G ready in Europe. Apparently in the US you must buy these devices from your wireless provider if you want it to be used in US. ( I am sure someone has a workaround but I did not invest time to do this. OUt of the Box in the US you have no 3G option.
Summary: I purchased this a a Christmas gift and was happy when I got it but after installing a few apps and having tons of problems I am trying to see if I can return it. Pro's Feels good to hold nice having a kick stnad and can hook up to you TV to watch netflix and youtube. Price is great! Con's Netflix will not run but maybe 30 minutes then the system locks up. The back can get really hot. Archos customer service sucks takes almost a week to get a response from them.
Excerpt: "The Archos system has always been undermined in my opinion since the introduction of the ipad no on seems to go for it but trust me it is actually much better than it actually seems. Firstly it is very easy to use as it has a great user interface very similar to that of the ipads. Also with specified gripping areas it makes it more comfortable to use and allows it to withstand a few knocks, trust me i know ! However in my opinion there are a few flaws ...
Summary: I've had my Archos 101 G9 Turbo 250Gb for a little over a week. The simple upgrade to ICS shouldn't put people off and the easy transfer of media is a real plus point. Once upgraded to ICS I thought I'd try out the speed and graphics capability by playing the pre-installed games, Asphalt 6HD kept stopping making it unplayable and Spiderman HD the background sound effects wouldn't work.
Summary: Well I was highly excited about the impending arrival of my new pad, having spent some time perusing the specifications of a number of potential contenders. It was interesting to note on arrival, that I had ordered the 1Gb version of the 1.5Ghz, which is now being advertised as a 512MB 1.5Ghz, as you can see above. Strange as I was assured that the 1.5Ghz models only come with 1Gb. Anyway I excitedly opened the box, and powered up.
