Summary: First off, the seller who sold me this sent me an open box item. The factory seals were broken and the seller put a white piece of tape on it which said "warranty control seal." Yea, that makes it better. Anyways, I opened the unit and from right out of the box it had an issue. Big surprise from an open unit. It constantly was hitting the back button like someone was pressing on it. After a cold reboot it behaved.
Summary: Archos is providing a good product at low price. My intial experience was little sad on this product, first of look is very plastic and all the joints having sufficient visible gaps. Aesthetic not attractive. On performance side intially its very slow also its crashes very often. Android market was not working that you can not install the applications. But all these has made OK after updating the firmware. Now machine is very stable.
Summary: Beware. This is an all-singing,all dancing piece of kit but it has many faults2 of which are DON'T let the battery run down because chances are it will not revive if you do and Archos does NOT have the remedy to fix the problem and DON't be overzealous with prompting a response immediately when you tap the screen because it does not like being personhandled. If you want to take a chance it could be good for you but my experience was the opposite. On the plus side it will...
This Archos is a bit disappointing on the charging up ...
7 August 2014
Summary: This Archos is a bit disappointing on the charging up.The battery does not seem to last long, gets confusing ,displays a low battery but when charger is plugged in it goes quite high.(I hope this is understandable)!! But takes a while to do. This is my husbands tablet.
Summary: I've written this to help new users of the Archos 101 G9 tablet, as the info provided with the tablet and online is pretty much useless! The first tablet I had was sent back within a few minutes, as it crashed completely on firmware upgrade, despite following on-screen instructions. When the second one came, I took every step very carefully, like fully charging the battery and disconnecting from the mains before starting the upgrade.
Summary: Does what promises, but build quality could be better. Also G3 stick isn't as easy to use as inbuilt 3G. Display has good image but touch is sticky. Firmware receives updates about once a month, but still is somewhat unstable. Need's a boots every few hours of heavy use. Compared to the price I'd still say this is a good deal, but if you have money to spend some more you should go for Samsung or Motorola. You'll get more with their price.
Summary: This would have been an excellent product if it wasn't for the awful screen ripple problem that made it impossible to use. Returned to amazon straight away and swapped it for a Lenova IdeaPad k1.
Summary: My partner got me this for Christmas. Seemed like a good tablet, has a mini-HDMI port, 3G USB Stick port (which CAN be used for other usb devices... such as external hard drives, usb thumb drives etc, and can play movies straight off the thumb drive etc) To use a USB device you will have to turn 3G on in the settings/quick settings. The unit I received had a faulty audio jack, so it was impossible to play sound through headphones.
