When I first heard of its announcement one of my chief complaints about the iPad was Apple’s decision to use the iPhone OS. Instead of crippling the capability of the tablet; why not use a modified version of Snow Leopard? This thought was based on what most of the tech community were ingrained to think – tablet devices need to run desktop/laptop operating systems to maintain the most functionality. The problem with this train of thought is the mouse keyboard... Read more

Let us start by saying this: Apple has not created anything new with the iPad, just like they didn’t create anything new with the iPod or iPhone. If you look at it, Apple rarely creates something ...... Read more

For now, Apple pitches the iPad as a computer that fully engrosses you in a web page, your e-mail, or media because—apart from playing music in the background—you can’t really do two things at once on it, and its non-finger input solutions are still in their infancy. Since it depends upon Apple’s iTunes software to synchronize content from your Mac or PC, and can’t print documents without a computer’s assistance, it’s not ready to fully replace either... With 3G, iPad Comes Into Its Own — Network Permitting Like the iPhone before it, the iPad has the potential to change your life. No exaggeration: Once you live with one for a few weeks, you'll find it insinuating itself into your daily routine so much that you can't imagine living without it. (If you're a man, get used to wearing a murse.) With more than a million of the devices sold to date , clearly something is clicking, and not just with 99-year-olds . But the 3G... Read more

The Apple iPad isn't an eBook reader, which makes it very hard to compare it to other eBook readers. It doesn't use e-ink technology, it's heavy, you can't read out of it in bright places, and the display will strain your eyes eventually. Still, it has some major advantages over other eBook readers in the market – color, touch screen interface, and internet browsing capabilities. If you're looking for a great device for multiple tasks and your main reading material is... Read more

This review is from: Apple iPad 32GB 3G WiFi I have 2 iPads. A 64 GB WiFi only model which I bought the day it was available, and this 32GB 3G model which I picked up last week. They are about the same price; if you have to choose between an extra 32GB of storage and 3G capacity, definitely go with the 3G if for nothing else future proofing. I consider this to be the sweet spot of the 6 iPad variants. Right now, my wife is in China with a WiFi only model. She is not a... Read more

I use this for information on the go and personal entertainment. I am most impressed with the screen quality and how rich native apps are to interact with. Amazed at speed when used on WiFi through FiOS, a bit of lag using slower 3G or WiFi on slow internet connections. I still prefer my laptop for serious web browsing, but this is perfect for occassional use as it does not have all the problems of a laptop (battery life, weight, screen angle/brightness, heat, etc)....
