The Apple iPad 2 is a tablet that is designed in a 9.50 inch (241.2 mm) x 7.31 inch (185.7 mm) x 0.34 inch (8.8 mm) form factor weighing 1.33 pounds (601 g). The tablet comes in capacities ranging from 16GB to 64GB and is available with cellular options. It supports Wi-Fi (802.11a/b/g/n) and Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR technology. The cellular 3G option supports UMTS/HSDPA/HSUPA (850, 900, 1900, 2100 MHz); GSM/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz) network bandwidth. The iPad 2 also sports a 9.7-inch (diagonal) LED-backlit glossy widescreen Multi-Touch display with IPS technology that supports 1024-by-768-pixel resolution at 132 pixels per inch (ppi), fingerprint-resistant oleophobic coating, and support for display of multiple languages and characters simultaneously. It is powered by a 1GHz dual-core Apple A5 custom-designed, high-performance, low-power system-on-a-chip; a back camera that supports video recording, HD (720p) up to 30 frames per second with audio; still camera with 5x digital zoom; a front camera for video recording, VGA up to 30 frames per second with audio; VGA-quality still camera; and supports tap gesture to control exposure for video or stills and photo and video geotagging over Wi-Fi. It is powered by a built-in 25-watt-hour rechargeable lithium-polymer battery for up to 10 hours of surfing the web on Wi-Fi, watching video, or listening to music and can be charged via power adapter or USB to computer system. The iPad 2 also features a 30-pin dock connector port, 3.5-mm stereo headphone minijack, built-in speaker, microphone, Micro-SIM card tray (Wi-Fi + 3G model), three-axis gyro sensor, accelerometer sensor and ambient light sensor.

The Apple iPad 2 is a tablet that is designed in a slim form factor and is 33 percent thinner and up to 15 percent lighter than its predecessor. It provides users with the platform to surf the web, check email, watch movies, and read books. Powered by two cores in one A5 chip, the iPad 2 supports optimized multitasking, gameplay and video graphics. The iPad 2 also features two cameras - one on the front and one on the back – that are designed for FaceTime video calling. The two cameras can also be toggled during video chat, allowing friends and family to chat to the user face-to-face, then switch to the back camera during video call to share where the user is, who they are with, or what’s going on around them. The iPad 2 is compatible with iPad Smart Covers with smart magnetic technology. When the Smart Cover is opened the iPad wakes up instantly and when it is closed, the iPad goes to sleep automatically. The Smart cover also doubles as a stand for movie-watching, game-playing, web-surfing stand. Other features on the iPad 2 include a 9.7 inch display, 802.11n wireless technology, gyro, accelerometer, and compass that allows users to rotate the iPad 2 in portrait or landscape style and have the display do the same; AirPlay.that lets users stream music, photos and videos wirelessly to a HDTV and speakers via AirPlay-enabled speakers or Apple TV on a Wi-Fi network; Video mirroring where users plug the iPad 2 to a Apple Digital AV Adapter or Apple VGA Adapter (sold separately) to output content on a HDTV or projector; AirPrint that lets users print their email, photos, web pages, and documents from the iPad over Wi-Fi.
