Okay but not that much better than the HD.

Summary: Its not much of an upgrade over the Kindle Fire HD IMO. I got this cause my HD stopped charging and was out of warranty. Probably should have just gotten a "real" tablet but it is what it is. I dont hate it, it just could be so much better * It charges faster.
Summary: Love it. I am still getting used to all the features. I started with the original Kindle...loved it. Then I was given the Kindle HD...took awhile to get used to it. Now I have my third one...each has elements I love. Still use the other two for certain things. I would advise you to get one.
Summary: Purchased March 2014, $579. Flimsy sim card tray broke installing the Verizon sim card. Ordered a replacement tray. Got an email the next day saying that the tray could not be replaced, but because I was such a valued customer, I could purchase a new identical model at the discounted price of $521.
Summary: When we first received our Kindle, things went well. We were mostly satisfied with the apps available to us, but there were many that were unavailable on the Kindle. Still, it was convenient to access email while on vacation and we liked the quality of the photos it took to post on Facebook.
Summary: At first I really liked the idea of reading books and listening to music. As I began to use it though, problems started. Now while reading, the areas to tap on to have the menus appear are not clear and the same spot will work once after several attempts, then not work later.
Summary: Originally ourchased the 7 inch kindle fire. An unfortunate fall cracked the screen. I will likely repair it, but wanted to get the 8.9 I really like the larger screen and the additional memory 64GB for photos as this tablet also has a rear facing camera.
Clear easy to read screen and good apps but get a stylus

Summary: My first generation Kindle expired so it was time to consider how to replace it. After a lot of research I decided a tablet would make sense what with all the additional capabilities. The Fire does all I need with ease. The color and screen clarity are superb. Switching between apps is easy.
I've owned every Kindle tablet ever made and just when I think they can't get better, they do

Summary: The sound was greatly improved on this new hdx 8.9. The streaming doesn't buffer, the Mayday feature is soooooooo convenient and Firefly is cool. What's not to love! No complaints here...I'm a bigger fan than ever!
