Poor Quality

Rugby 2, Amazon
24 March 2014
  • Summary: I have had two of these tablets. I ordered my Acer Iconia W510 first week of December 2013 and within a week the speaker started to make a loud buzzy noise, making listening to the tablet impossible. I returned the unit through Amazon.com. Amazon promptly sent a replacement unit to me and it promptly developed the same speaker problem plus additional issues such as microphone failure and not powering on intermittently.

The machine is Dead within one year of use

David F. Eskridge, Amazon
9 February 2014
  • Summary: DO NOT PURCHASE FROM ACER This thing lasted right up to the warranty and then died completely. All of the tech support options are for warrantied products only. There is no phone option at all. Do not buy this product. It is a rip-off. Do not buy from Acer they are utter scum. 450 dollars for less than a year of very light duty. I have never been so abused by Amazon or any other company hat sells through them. This company should be ashamed.

Not even a year old - and its dead

Amazon Customer, Amazon
19 January 2014
  • Summary: Now that I have this problem, I'm reading reviews of this system that the power button is not well made and fails. Acer offered to fix it for $275... but I won't be doing that or ever buying an ACER again.

Customer Support is awful, keyboard is awful

jwm1969, Amazon
3 September 2013
  • Summary: Out of the box, the keyboard did not work correctly. The trackpad causes the cursor to jump all over the screen. The keyboard repeats characters and sometimes does not echo characters at all. Basically the keyboard is not usable at all. I called Customer Support expecting a standard response of "a new keyboard is on the way". Well, I was in for a rude awakening. After a hour in Level 1 chat, I get transferred to Level 2 support. Then, the chat starts over...

gloria wong, Amazon
14 June 2013
  • Summary: *** I've had this ACER now for several months - time enough to get used to it - wish I didn't get it. The touch pad started malfunctioning - not responsive to the touch. DON'T LIKE IT. I've had this ACER since June and it's now September - and I HATE IT! I've had so much trouble with it and today it won't even boot up! SHAME ON AMAZON FOR SELLING SUCH A JUNK PRODUCT without a fair guarantee or customer support for it.

Acer rushed out a defective product. this is a lemon

surprise, Amazon
22 February 2013
  • Summary: I get the same known issue of the erratic touchpad. Now the keyboard died on me after 6 weeks of use I contacted Acer Customer Service, and I need to send the tablet to a repair facility. I have to pay for the shipping cost. Customer service played the rolled of not knowing anything. Asked a question, not response then. Update on 3/8 I sent the unit for repair. I paid the shipping cost. The unit come back last Tuesday.
