Summary: DO NOT PURCHASE FROM ACER This thing lasted right up to the warranty and then died completely. All of the tech support options are for warrantied products only. There is no phone option at all. Do not buy this product. It is a rip-off. Do not buy from Acer they are utter scum. 450 dollars for less than a year of very light duty. I have never been so abused by Amazon or any other company hat sells through them. This company should be ashamed.
Summary: Out of the box, the keyboard did not work correctly. The trackpad causes the cursor to jump all over the screen. The keyboard repeats characters and sometimes does not echo characters at all. Basically the keyboard is not usable at all. I called Customer Support expecting a standard response of "a new keyboard is on the way". Well, I was in for a rude awakening. After a hour in Level 1 chat, I get transferred to Level 2 support. Then, the chat starts over...
had it for a while and now I HATE IT - DO NOT BUY THIS ACER ICONIA
gloria wong, Amazon
14 June 2013
Summary: *** I've had this ACER now for several months - time enough to get used to it - wish I didn't get it. The touch pad started malfunctioning - not responsive to the touch. DON'T LIKE IT. I've had this ACER since June and it's now September - and I HATE IT! I've had so much trouble with it and today it won't even boot up! SHAME ON AMAZON FOR SELLING SUCH A JUNK PRODUCT without a fair guarantee or customer support for it.
Summary: Bought this for my husband. Supplier provided two different ones, problems with both. Went and bought him the ASUS Tablet ($120 more) worth every penny. Have owned (and still do) many Acer products, will never buy again. They do not stand behind their products. Big thank you to Tiger Direct for standing behind your sales.
Summary: Now that I have this problem, I'm reading reviews of this system that the power button is not well made and fails. Acer offered to fix it for $275... but I won't be doing that or ever buying an ACER again.
Summary: I really wanted this tablet to work out. Solid plastic build makes for a very thin and light tablet. Nice painted finish on the back doesn't attract fingerprints. The screen is bright and very responsive. To me it feels very nice in the hand and has very little flex. Speakers are just ok. I've had two of these and they both had major issues.
Summary: I have had two of these tablets. I ordered my Acer Iconia W510 first week of December 2013 and within a week the speaker started to make a loud buzzy noise, making listening to the tablet impossible. I returned the unit through Amazon.com. Amazon promptly sent a replacement unit to me and it promptly developed the same speaker problem plus additional issues such as microphone failure and not powering on intermittently.
