Summary: This is my favorite tablet but ...this my second as I wore out my previous after two years. My biggest regret is that Acer isn't allowing it to upgrade from Ice Cream Sandwich to Jelly Bean software. I was told by my local computer IT guy that there will soon be an new upgrade for tablets and phones but no one knows when that will happen so in the meantime, for whatever reason, this model is not allowed the upgrade I got automatically with the previous tablet.
Negatives to Report on the A-700 After 8 month use.

Summary: I've had this A-700 tablet since July 2013. Overall, it pretty good and probably worth the price. The kids love it. There are some Negatives to report: 1. The screen image is KILLED almost completely in sunlight. If you planned to use this tablet outdoors or in a car in sunlight, forget it. 2. NO Type A (standard and largest) USB port. This tablet uses only a micro-USB port for data transfer and charging. Small and seems more delicate.
Summary: Not much to praise about with this tablet. Much to complain about sadly. First off the 1920x1200 display we shouldve been thrilled about sadly is not worth anything with the dim lighting offered to show it off. With this said even with maximum brightness on, outside usage is more of a hassle due to glare. Tablet also seems to get unbearably hot after a short usage. Battery last about 8 hours of constant use with brightness on automatic settings.
Summary: Amazon delivered my A700 last Friday and I've spent many hours since, messing with it. I've install a large number of apps & games to try out. I did not do a full factory reset when I got the A700, as some have recommended elsewhere. Pros: The HD screen is fantastic. I compared it against my gal's iPad 1 and iPad 3, and it is easily comparable to the iPad 3.
Summary: Hard to tell yet since there are only a couple of HD tablets. Acer and Asus ..it a little too early to say if HD screens are really the way to go in a tablet..i agree with a lot of other reviews that both the brands mentioned there is a big performance issue due to the extra pixles...screen response and other querks,, like first generation apps not working even crashing the device..not enough development of HD apps,, heat issues .
Fire for Fireman, hot tablet it might even be overheating

Summary: I was excited to get my A700 because I love Acer laptops. Acer tablets have let me down with my experience with the a700. Pros Nice UI Tegra 3 quad Android 4.0 1080p Cons Heat,Overheating Couple of random shutdowns/restart No 1080p apps
Summary: Really wanted to like this tablet. But, in the end I had to return it. I own a Xoom and Galaxy Tab 10, this tablet felt every bit as solid and the screen was simply brilliant, even compared to the Samsung! But.....this thing does get warm/hot. I haven't experienced heat output like the ACER in my other two tablets. From reading/research this seems to be an ACER issue. On top of the heat issue, the HDMI port did not work on my unit. So back to Amazon it went.
Summary: I bought this tablet the first day it came out here on amazon, and what i noticed right out of the box was that the screen color is very warm, meaning that the whites tend to look a little on the yellowish warm side. The resolution is beautiful though, another thing is that it lags a little, even on simple things like scrolling through screens.
Summary: It looks like Amazon had a limited "early release" so I got my A700 on 6/21 and have had quite a bit of time to play with the device and get a solid feel for what I hoped would be my next tablet. Unfortunately it would appear Acer didn't make any changes to resolve the thermal issues. However, I will go ahead and write a new full review anyways as there are some noteworthy differences and new info. If you read my review of the A510, some of this will look familiar.
Summary: Unser erstes Tablet.
