Needs a software upgrade!

Amazon Customer "lkwells", Amazon
3 October 2014
  • Summary: This is my favorite tablet but ...this my second as I wore out my previous after two years. My biggest regret is that Acer isn't allowing it to upgrade from Ice Cream Sandwich to Jelly Bean software.

Review update after 14 months

FGS762, Amazon
4 July 2013
  • Summary: I have to dispute the negative reviews, My A700 does not lag or hang up and it only gets slightly warm when charging. The glass however bows out slightly in the center both the bottom and top. I won't notice that in a case.

  • Summary: I am 60 years old so that should say something about be loving this tablet. I am still learning how to use everything on it and probably will be for awhile. I must say that watching netflix has been great. The video quality is amazing and when I put in the headphones, wow. The sound is also amazing.

Wow, folks really weren't kidding about the heat issue...

Steelheart, Amazon
28 September 2012
  • Summary: After just a few minutes of watching a Netflix stream, the bottom right corner of my A700 was VERY warm. Probably not enough to burn me or damage the tablet, but still not something pleasant to use.

Heat Issue Needs to be Addressed

Kindle Customer, Amazon
26 July 2012
  • Summary: I spent a lot time doing research before upgrading from my Toshiba Thrive that I've had for a year. Part of the criteria was for the for the tablet to be Full HD. No issue for A700 since the display is stunning and I only needed the brightness to be at 25%.

Great display, terrible otherwise

Michael J, Amazon
13 July 2012
  • Summary: I was looking for a very dense, sharp display when I bought this unit. There were warnings about the responsiveness of this tablet on the internet review sites, but none of them made much of it (most of the review sites skirt negatives to focus on positives, which does not serve their reader base...

Too much heat

James G., Newegg
6 July 2012
  • Summary: The screen on this thing is a real winner, but the overheating is a deal breaker.
  • Pros: Tegra 3 Android 4.0 The screen - 1080p
  • Cons: Menus are a bit sluggish but generally not bad. Only 1gb of ram... More than could have helped. It overheats doing anything intensive such as playing zen pinball or watching a movie. I'm very disappointed with this tablet because of overheating.
