Summary: Tablet worked great for a while, but this model has a very common issue of freezing up then erasing all data, including the recovery image after about a year of owning it. it is impossible to reload software onto it after this effectively making it worthless, unless you rooted it before hand.
flimsy power switch makes tablet into paper weight
4 December 2012
Summary: A great tablet but it has one very bad flaw, the power button is fragile and will break 9/10 times after a short period. The actual switch itself is very ,very tiny and fixed to the motherboard and is about 1/2 size of a a chicklet and has 2 small tabs holding it in place. When the power switch breaks the unit is worthless and almost impossible to repair.
Summary: The wifi signal on this tablet is very weak. It's much weaker than other devices I have like laptops and phones. Even in the same room, I cannot get full signal strength. I literally have to stand inches away from my router in order to get full signal strength. This tablet cannot pickup any wifi signal one floor above even though all other wifi devices I have work fine. So I don't think it's a problem with my router or wifi network.
Summary: After using the A500 for more than 6 months in parallel with a Kindle Fire, an original iPad and then the new iPad, I am more and more disappointed: - The A500 has not received any meaningful updates. Honeycomb is just a mess of a UI. In the mean time, the iPads have received numerous updates and their multitasking is now much better than the A500. - The iPads added some great multi-touch gestures. In the meantime Acer has done nothing.
Summary: I purchased this item after much researching as I wanted a unit for when I travel. I like it for it's ease of use however I dislike the way it goes through it's battery charge. You can actually watch the charge disapear, not good.
Good for playing Freecell, UTTERLY USELESS browser

Summary: I have had this tablet for about 8 months now. I bought it as a quick option for checking email and looking for info on the internet. At first I thought it was a good choice, but it wasn't long before it was driving me crazy with websites not loading or taking over a minute to load, and the browser constantly crashing.
Nice screen and build quality, but poor wifi, locked down, and lots of bloatware

Summary: I've only had this for a few days, but have found the wireless reception to be very weak, so it doesn't stay online in areas of my house that have good reception on our Mac minis or Asus EEE netbooks. Apparently, this is caused by the auto-update to Android 3.2, but should be fixed. The other problem is the large number of intrusive and unwanted programs (excess media players and games), which seem to start up on their own even if you don't use them, and which cannot be...
Summary: I purchased the Acer A500 Iconia Tablet thinking that I would have a lightweight device to which I could access the internet and in particular my email account. The tablet claim that an email account can be accessed with several simple steps. After spending many hours talking to my server support, who have been more than helpful but unable to help.
Summary: I bought an APED in January 2011. This is extremely difficult to download any APPS. youtube never worked. My friend has an IPAD. I will choose IPAD rather than have Android OS's Tablet. Sorry ACER!!!
