Summary: Four months out of warranty, no way (Internet, phone, Best Buy etc.) to arrange for repair. Will not boot up so can't even do a factory reset (which would erase everything but might restore the operating system). I would never purchase another Acer product.
Summary: I really don't understand how this tablet has gotten such great reviews. I've owned this tablet for about 3 days now and I've gotten about an hour of actual use out of it, otherwise it's frozen up on me at least a dozen times.
Summary: *** UPDATE November 2013 *** I can no longer recommend Acer products! A few weeks ago, my A500 crashed. It wasn't the first time. So I restarted it like usual, but it never got past the Acer logo screen. After trying to restart is several times, I thought perhaps a 'hard reset' was in order.
Summary: After long thoughts and reviews about purchasing a tablet, war between iPad 2 and Acer / Xoom went for Acer. Reasons for purchase: 32 GB at $470 including tax and delivery. Extendable memory option. Had an Acer Laptop, and was happy with Acer product.
Summary: The tablet feels heavy and sturdy. I guess i fell into the trap.
Pros: Its a tablet. Works like many others
Cons: Wont accept a charge after about two weeks of owning. NewEgg only replaces after the box is open. Id advise checking out some other brands, even if they may cost a little more. Getting a replacement for something built in a shoddy way with the same product kind of sucks.
Cons: Loaded with crapware.support appalling One overwhelming con = acer Back "button" began firing continuously making tablet unusable. Hours upon hours with tech suppot. sotware resets. hardware resets. every time it escalated, long explanations had to be repeated endlessly, no satisfaction.
Summary: I purchased this unit about 10 months ago and gave it to my parents. They are not tech-savvy by any means but I figured this tablet was easy enough to use. A month ago, I upgraded the unit to ICS from Acer's website (which by the way is not a simple process).
Summary: This was a very nice tablet for 13 months. Did everything I wanted, received update to ICS, I was a happy camper. Then yesterday, it wouldn't boot--got stuck on the Acer logo screen. I figured a soft reset would take care of it. Nope, nor would a hard (factory default/wipe) reset.
Summary: Where do I begin to describe how much I hate this thing. First of all it doesn't support Adobe Flash Player so I can't play games on Pogo or most other game websites. Then it will not allow me to customize my wallpaper without cropping all pictures which then leaves about an inch by inch picture on...
