  • Conclusion: Unless you absolutely need microSD and HDMI out on your 7-inch tablet, there's no reason to choose the Acer Iconia Tab A110 over the less expensive Google Nexus 7.
  • Pros: Runs Android 4.1. Micro HDMI out and microSD slot.
  • Cons: Low-quality screen. Clunky design. Relatively expensive. Disappointing battery life.

  • Conclusion: It’s not possible to judge the A110, or any other seven inch tablet, without comparing it to the Nexus 7. A year ago we’d have probably classed this as one of the better budget tablets. But the game has changed and we now have higher expectations of what we should get for our money. The A110 delivers some good things in certain areas, but ultimately falls down where it really counts.

It was first introduced by Acer in June 2012 alongside another tablet called the Iconia Tab A210. It boasts many useful hardware and software features, but by far the most intriguing thing about it is its price tag.

  • Pros: Costs less than £200; Quad-core nVidia power; Decent build quality; Android Jelly Bean OS
  • Cons: Dim display; Chunky

Acer Iconia Tab A110 review

22 November 2012
  • Excerpt: Had it been launched at the beginning of 2012, instead of at the end, Acer's diminutive new tablet might have looked a bit of a bargain. Unfortunately, there's now a lot of competition in the sub-£200 tablet sector, and the Iconia Tab A110's £180 price now makes it more expensive than either the Google Nexus 7 or the Kindle Fire HD . This is a shame, as the specifications look promising.
