Great quality and Easy to Use

  • Excerpt: Great Mic for Lightning iOS devices. The sound quality is extremely good for the price. I love that the settings are included on the Mic itself, making it very easy to use and adjust on-the-fly. The free "HandyRec." SW from zoom is excellent as well. Please be aware that the Mic sits directly against the iOS device, so consider this when using with a case.
  • Pros: Easy Controls, Good Sound Quality, Lightweight

Not a great value

  • Excerpt: I used this product to record a round table podcast and the audio quality was just slightly better than the microphone on the new Iphone 6. - I believe there is more value in this product if you use it as a hand-held mic attachment to your Iphone, but for any audio source outside of 10-18 inches, you're actually better off with the built in mic. - Great in a pinch, and certainly improves audio at close range, but overall it didn't fit my needs for the price.
  • Pros: Lightweight
  • Cons: Poor Sound Quality

Very Sensitive to Handling Part II

29 October 2014
  • Excerpt: This is an update to an earlier review by the same name. Through some playing around I have found some settings that drastically cut back on the sensitivity issues mentioned. If you set the unit to "Auto Gain" you had better not be handling the iPhone or it will pick up every little touch and movement. However, if you set to "Limited" and set the wheel to about "4", things are much more satisfactory. I think I have also solved the popping issue.
  • Pros: Allows Iphone Charging, Allows Phone Charging, Easy Controls, Good Sound Quality, Lightweight
  • Cons: Requires Wifi Off, Warranty Not Tranferrable

Very very sensitive to handling

  • Excerpt: I am really trying to like this mic. Years of satisfaction with the Zoom H2 and several of the great value Samson Go Mics and it seemed like this product would be a slam dunk. And... when the iPhone is mounted in a stationary tripod, it surely delivers. It has excellent stereo separation and it really does have rich, robust sound.
  • Pros: Great Separation, Lightweight, Rich Sound Quality
  • Cons: Occasional Pop And Hiss, Sensitive To Handling

  • Excerpt: This mic provides better sound when using the iPhone to shoot video. It is delicate and requires jimmying to have it work correctly so there are drawbacks, but it is the easiest option out there.

Easy improvement for iPhone audio

  • Excerpt: This little gadget makes sound infinitely better than the native microphone. I use it for video recording and can dial in the settings to make my video's sound pop. Not sure about the durability long-term, but it hit the deck from about 4 feet up and seems okay (the one downside is it is a bit awkward to remove from the iPhone). Overall excellent product that lends to EASY sound improvement.
  • Pros: Durable, Easy Controls, Good Sound Quality, Lightweight
  • Cons: Tricky To Remove From Pho, Tricky Unplugging

  • Pros: Easy Controls, Good Sound Quality, Lightweight
  • Cons: Need An Adapter, No protective case
