Summary: Based on other reviews I had read of this microphone I was expecting something special. I did not get it. The specs mention a lower range of 50 Hz, which was encouraging. I found the bass was thin and weak. It was decidedly lacking for recording acoustic guitar, both nylon and metal string.
Summary: I can't compare this product to any other only that it's a different beast to the internal mikes on my Olympus LS11 pocket digital recorder, they are more sensitive, but this mike does a great job and sounds good
Summary: It is an interesting set of compromises. The stereo is derived from mid-side microphones housed in a single body, that is very handy--and probably the best way I know of to get the two capsules as close together as possible.
Summary: I have only used this mic a couple of times to record solo bagpipe recitals, but have found it significantly better (at least for my purposes)than similarly priced mics by other manufacturers that I have experimented with - in short I am delighted with its performance.

Summary: This is a very good microphone. It's high quality in terms of recording sound, and is to all intents and purposes industry standard. I work as an animator/film maker and bought in on the recommendation of a fellow professional. I have not been disappointed.
Summary: This mic has been around for a long time, but that's because it's a stuinning product. I use this in a mini disk recorder and an Edirol. Just brilliant quality, I can't fault it. (I own to of them)
Summary: The MS957 is a reliable performer for serious amateur and semi-professional use. It has two settings for stereo sound field width. The narrower (90 degrees) gives good spacial positioning; in the wide setting, peripheral sounds are captured with good definition, but central sounds are sometimes not...
