Good Mic

Salsy1, J&R
19 September 2010
  • Summary: Great Mic. If you plan on using it outside, figure out some type of wind cover for it. The mic has great stereo separation. I'm using it on a new Kodak Playtouch camera, and it sounds great.

suprising quality

smith, J&R
10 September 2009
  • Summary: This is a nice mic for rehearsals or impromptu performances. The sound quality may not be good for a feature film or even an indie film, but you could be very creative and use it for some great environmental sounds. For me, it has provides a useful tool for songwriting. The mic really is a condenser and works well. It is omnidirectional and really does a great job of taming and panning all instruments and frequencies in the mix.

Sony ECM Mic Specifications

broadcastguy, epinions.com
17 June 2007
  • Summary: I would suggest to the manufacturers that they be more specific in their spec sheets concerning voltages, epecially where it concerns microphones. Not all of us are engineers.
  • Pros: Looks like a really nice Mic that should meet my needs depending upon power.
  • Cons: No information on what voltage is specified for "plug in powered".

I'm happy with it

Peter D., B&H Photo
4 May 2007
  • Summary: I recently used this Sony microphone for recording a piano class rehearsal with my minidisc recorder. Hey, it sounded pretty good. It has fairly good stereo separation. There is some hiss, but the signal is clear enough to retain some hi-fidelity quality about it. Does it sound like a professional mic? Probably not. But it serves the semi-professional/hobbyist's needs. This mic will help me get through until I can afford the Zoom H4 recorder.
