Excerpt: I am a recordist/mixer for tv film and video. It sometimes makes sense to have a mic plugged into the RED cameras (such as the scarlet, Epic, Dragon or even RED One) for reference audio. It's nice to have a track recorded to the camera if they aren't using time code synch.
Excerpt: When I attached this to a ICDPX312 voice recorder, the result was quieter than the built-in mic. Definitely NOT worth the purchase. I will try it on some other units before complaining to the manufacturer. Meanwhile, SAVE YOUR MONEY!
Excerpt: Audio quality aside, this little mic is great for audio referencing. I use it on a RED Scarlet to sync the clapper. The only thing is you have to crank up the volume in the camera to get decent sound off of it.
Excerpt: I shoot profesional videos and use external audio recording. This little mic I use in the camera as an auxiliary to check images with sound without have to synch the external sound recordings, which I do in editing. The mic will not give you profesional sound, and I would not use it for that.
Excerpt: I use the mic on my iphone 4 quality is way better than iphone mic .. The fact that is a stereo mic gives a whole diferent dinamic to recording both on the field and studio
The only draw back is that you cant use the mic with the iphone...but then again you can!
Excerpt: I got this mic to work with my RED Epic and I'm thrilled with the results. It's a great scratch track mic for slates or simple sound syncing, and way more convenient than running an XLR into the 1/8" Stereo Mini jack and then figuring out a way to mount a shotgun mic onto the rig.
Excerpt: This is a must have addition if your working in DSLR video. It's no professional microphone replacement, but it indeed improves the internal audio recording capabilities of Canon T2i. It's slightly larger than I thought it would be, but it's not much of a problem to be honest.
Excerpt: I use this with my Kodak zi8 camcorder(great).I like the fact that it can be turned toward you to greatly enhance commentary.Wind screen also works great. These little mics only go down to 200hz so the on board mic actually has more bass, but over all sound is more controlled with this mic.B&H price...
Excerpt: I will be recording steam engines and ship horns. It gives a very live sound, and separates right and left very well. Built very solid, with no plastic parts. Much improved recording quality over the built in mike.
