PERFECT STEREO MIC FOR RECORDING MUSIC, VOICES AND SOUNDS
10 September 2012
Summary: The Shure VP99 is an excellent professional stereo mic with a perfect right/left balancing and excellent sound shape. I am using it for radio documentations, for recording sounds, like voices and music.
Summary: The VP-88 is a great mic for 5.1! I mix about 60 sporting events a year for television and use 3 VP-88s to create my 5.1 soundfield. I usually use the mics in the M/S config and let the audio console decode it to stereo. The stereo image is quite good and translates well into mono. Happy mixing!
Excerpt: Everything has been said about OVERALL OPINION I work exclusively live and I use the microphone Atmosphere Battery for six years, for all types of music. I use a compressor as needed. This is the most natural I've found to do this micro couple of Schoeps excluded, of course.
Excerpt: The VP88 is a slim designed microphone that is used for professional recordings. This is the microphone that I prefer to use for recording sound effects when I am out and about. I was able to capture some really good crowd noise and street noise with it like cars and traffic.
Excerpt: The Shure VP88 is a high quality stereo condenser microphone to be used in the recording studio. I wouldn't recommend using the mic in any other situation, as it isn't designed for use on the stage or anywhere else really.
