Summary: This was my first microphone purchase, i was impressed with the results of using this mike. The range is quite good, went to different parts of the house and the mike worked very well. No distortion noted.
Summary: This microphone is virtually indestructible. Although this was a recent purchase I've used 58s for years and have counted on them in some pretty demanding situations. The frequency response is fairly flat except for a midrange peak about 3 KHz or so, thus vocals stand out in a mix without sounding un-natural.
Solid mic for vocals that can be used and abused night after night on stage

Summary: If you are looking for a high fidelity studio microphone, this is not it. It does sound good but it's not that type of mic. However if you are looking for a solid mic that can be used and abused on stage night after night, this is it. This is the choice of professionals. This mic is the industry standard for live performances. This mic is the vocal version of the SM57 which is for instruments. Nobody will ever laugh at you for showing up with this mic.
Summary: It's one of the best performance microphone's that Shure makes. It's durable and high quality. I would recommend them to anyone who wants a high quality microphone for performing. It will last for years. I've found that you will go through many mic chords before the microphone ever wears out.
